"Jia!" I called out to her with a big smile on my face.
Her wheel chair was turned against me, but she didn't look back when I called her.
When I reached her, I realized that Jia had her face buried on both hands.
I knelt down infront of her.
"Jia, what's wrong?"
She shook her head then wiped the tears from her face.
She forced a smile.
"Nothing."
"It's all right. You can talk to me." I reached out to wipe the tear she missed.
"I can't stand seeing you like this." I added softly, the concern so evident in my voice.
She sniffed and was quiet for a short moment.
Then, she started speaking.
"I dreamt about the accident last night. What happened during my accident, it doesn't haunt me anymore. That's not why I've been crying. The dream," She paused, trying to find the right words to say, "It wouldn't leave my head the entire day. It was as if it wanted to keep on reminding me what happened to my best friend."
She stopped there when she started crying again.
I immediately pulled her into a hug.
Jia buried her face on my shoulder and she continued telling her story but I couldn't quite understand the words she was saying as they were muffled.
I only caught three words.
"He left me."
