The man fled for his life. Running through the empty stage and passageways of the abandoned opera house. He had to escape, he had to survive, it was a matter of life and death.
He heard the ominous sound of footsteps above him and quickened his pace, he needed to escape.
He heard his heart pounding frantically in his chest, if he kept this up he was bound to explode! He heard something land behind him and a pair of footsteps mimicking his own. The door was around here somewhere, he was certain, yes there it was only a few meters away now. The footsteps behind stopped as suddenly as they had begun. He himself stopped and looked around calling out into the ominous darkness "hello, is anyone there?" He heard the noise of someone dropping, almost silently but not quite an to the ground behind him. He turned again, knowing with the utmost dread what he would face. And there he was, it was: the phantom.
"Who said you were allowed to leave?" And with those chilling words the thing, like some overgrown cat, pounced...
