She never reached her target.
Instead something completely unexpected happened: something, or someone grabbed her from behind and threw her violently against a wall. The creature was only temporarily stunned by this and was soon on her feet again, but it had brought enough time for the Doctor and Christine's savior to move in front of them, shielding their bodies with his own.
The creature lunged at their rescuer but he easily blocked and threw the creature against a wall with inhuman strength.
Then he set upon it, drawing a syringe full of a glistening green liquid out of his boot. The creature clawed at him with it's talon like nails, tearing into flesh, it's fingers coming away, coated in a layer of crimson blood.
But the other did not flinch at his own wounds, instead he drove the syringe into it's neck.As the liquid decompressed into it's bloodstream, the creature began to writhe and hiss. Then something, something grotesque slithered, leech like from the victim's mouth. A sliver of worm like shadow, that crawled quickly towards where the Doctor and Christine were standing. It reached Christine and opened it's snarling maw, tentacles of shadow shot out, nearing the petrified girl.
Then a boot slammed onto the creature, squashing it with a strangely satisfyingly pop.
Their savior,
The Phantom Of the Opera, stood before them.Dedicated to FANGIRLGRYFFINDOR and Izzicle
