"Dad, why do you always arrive late after work?" John Joshua Padilla asked while scratching the tufts of short messy hair on his head.

"I just have a lot of meetings with the suppliers and such." My bar is a success, it already has 5 branches, and counting.

"But you forgot about mom's death anniversary yesterday dad." Julian Jake Padilla added while tying his brown curly hair.

"Sorry boys, I was just tired yesterday. We can visit her grave tomorrow, okay?" I said before leaving the twins, and head to my room. 

"Hey why are the twins still awake?" Julia asked as she put her book down from sitting on her side of the bed.

"I forgot about yesterday."

"Little did they know, you actually saw her yesterday." Julia smirked, but with a tinge of sadness in her voice was evident.

"Stop it, someone might hear you." I said, a little annoyed.

"So is the wedding cancelled?" Julia asked calmly, trying to hide the pain she was actually already feeling. 

"Can we not talk about it, please? I'm tired."

"You're always tired when it comes to me." I just ignored her and did my bestto fall asleep.

"Anak kailangan mong ituloy ang kaso." Karla pleaded.

"Mom I can't do it. What did she even do? No one actually got hurt right? JC's alive, the Lapuses are safe in Australia, and the dead bodies were all planned. What harm did she do? She just wanted to reach her dreams." I argued back.

"Daniel, pinaglaruan niya tayo. Tayong lahat. Nasa mental si Lester, ang mga Lapus nga hindi pa siya napapatawad, ang mga anak niya sa tingin mo tratratuhin niya ng tama? Ang mga apo ko?" Karla said, already crying.

After 13 fucking years it still stings to talk about it. It still makes the atmosphere weird and uncomfortable.

"But we haven't really heard her side of the story mom." I reasoned out.

"What do we have to hear Daniel? Do you think for once she'll tell you the truth?!" She cried, half yelling.

"I think her love was real,mom, I think minahal niya talaga ako." I was hopeful. I always was, still am.

"Then what about Julia? She was with you for 13 years Daniel, how can you leave her just like that?!" I can't even hear her right , but she was right.

"I don't know, mom. But all I know is I want her out of that prison." I'm 33 but I'm acting like a teenager when it comes to her.

"Think about your kids, Daniel. And please think about Julia." Mom left me sitting inside my office. I know no one would understand my choices but they had no right tojudge me, they aren't the ones in my position. They just know her negative side, I lived with her. I fucked her. I almost married her.

Dad can you please come home early so we can visit moms grave today like you promised?

The hardest part about all of this are the kids, how can I do all of this without hurting my kids. When did it start being this complicated, oh wait I fucking remember when I first met her.

I smirked after reading her message. I just hope this works.

"Hey mom, can you hear us? Look I'm all grown up now mom. The last time you saw me I haven't actually been circumcised yet-"

"Josh! Kadiri ka! Ma, sorry kay Josh ah medyo bad boy eh. Kamusta ka diyan? Nagseselos ka ba kay tita Julia kung tatawagin namin siyang mommy?"

"Why would you call her mommy dumb ass? She's not our mom!"

"Syempre, ikakasal na sila ni daddy kaya magiging nanay na natin siya."

"Why? Was she the one who gave birth to you? Huh?"

"John, Julian! Stop fighting." Daniel intervened. Julian and Josh both looked at each other like they were about to pounce on each other soon. Daniel continued, "I said stop, let's go home."

"Wait, dad. Lalagay ko lang tong bulaklak na kinuha ko sa garden ni tita Julia kanina." Julian said as he layed a bouquet of small flowers over the tombstone named "Natasha Chandria Lapus."

"Dad, isn't it strange that the writer of your favorite book have the same middle name with mom?" John asked.

"Onga, dad. Naisip ko rin parehas silang may Chandria, mahilig ka siguro sa pangalang Chandria." Julian chuckled as he teased his father.

"Why don't we just ask tito Seth? He's the publisher of the book right? So maybe he knows about her, right dad?" John said, quite serious with his inquiry.
