Chapter 52

This is amazing were in the 50's now, also this book made it to 2K and that wouldn't have happened without you guys. Thank you so much for stinking with me in this semi-confusing journey of Paused. Wow I just made it would like it's over, it's not just so you know. I'm continuing the little thing we got going on, you k ow the relationship between writer and reader is....I don't know how to end the sentence without questioning all my life choices:).

*Time Skip*

The next morning I woke up to a still sleeping Dan, he stirred in his sleep mumbling something under his breath. I waited a couple minutes before deciding it was about time to wake him up.
"Dan." I said softly rested my head on his chest. He groaned and stirred some more.
"Dan." I repeated softly poking him on the nose.
"Danny." I poked him on the nose again, he smiled slightly. I lifted my head off his chest as he moved onto his side facing me, hiding his face in his pillow.
"Danny boy." I said sitting up, playing with his hair gently, Dan groaned again. He stretched out his arms, his right hand planted onto my face pushing me back gently.
"Damn it Dan." My voice muffed by his hand.

"Good morning." I said kissing him on the lips, Dan kissed back lifting his head up slightly, then he hid his face in his pillow.
"But I don't want to be awake."
"Why?" I asked patting his on the back lightly.
"I was having such a great dream!" Dan whined his voice slightly muffled by the pillow.
"What was it about?" Dan lifted up his head and looked at me with a small smile.
"Us."
"And?"
"An-a-and we were married." I blushed, biting my lip.
"Anything else?" I asked anxiously, to be honest it never crossed my mind that Dan and I would be together long enough for marriage. Our relationship just seemed to good to be true, now hat he's brought it up the idea of him and I together for life doesn't sound bad.
"We had kids."
"Oh really now. Married with kids, sounds like a good life."
"It doesn't just have to a dream you know." Dan said looking at me eagerly. "We could get married one day and have kids, spending the rest of our lives with each."
"Sounds good to me, but let's see if we can even make it a year."

"Alright, challenge excepted." Dan said, kissing me on the lips.

After getting out of bed and eating it was time to unveil the surprise in the lounge.
"Are you ready!" Dan said with an overly dramatic announcer voice. "For the best surprise on the universe."
"Yep." I replied I'm patiently.
"I need more energy that that Love."
"Yeah!" I said putting what patient energy I had left into action.
"Okay closet our eyes." I rolled my eyes, then closed my eyes.
I could hear the lounge door opening, then I felt Dan's hands over my eyes as well.

*Dans thoughts*

She's going to love this surprise, I worked so hard to convince them to stay here. Not only that but I woke up in the middle of the night to let them in.
What if they aren't friends anymore?
What the hell are think Dan of course their friend I mean they've known each other since middle school, they've been through so much together. How can they not still be best friends.
Shit Dan calm down. Everything will be okay, (y/n) has been talking about...shit I forgot (his/her) name.

*Out of Dan's head/(y/n) POV*

"Just making sure you won't peek." Dan said pushing me forward, I slowly walked into the room.
"Your hands are really sweaty." I stated, feeling Dan tense up a bit.
"Sorry I'm nervous that you won't like it."
"Can I open my eyes now?"
"Not yet, give me a second." Dan said sounding as if he was directing someone or something around. "Okay open in 3...2...1...." I opened my eyes to see (best friends name) in front of me.
"Oh my gosh! (Best friend name), y-your here. I thought you said you were to tied up with work to come." I said mentally pinching myself over and over again making sure it isn't a dream.
"It's been to long." (BFF name) said hugging me tightly, I held back the water works as best as I could.
"I've missed you so much." My eyes became teary and my nose stuffy.
"M-me too." She replied, both of our eyes becoming watery and shiny.
"Oh sorry, I bet you two have already met but, this is Dan."
"Of course I know Dan, if it wasn't for him I would t be here right now."
"What do you mean?"
"He wrote my boss a note saying he wanted me to edit a new book that he's writing." (Bff name) said with a small smile.
Ever since we were kids she talked about being a writer, right now she's working for the New York Times. She's reported practically everything, the down side is its never important enough that they put it in the actual new paper it's self.
"Is that so?" I replied giving Dan a suspicious look. "Was the amazing book is not on fire enough for you?" I said jokingly.
"It's just a little book that I wrote about...ehm things." I nodded my head and smirked.
"Your not writing anything are you?"
"You know me I procrastinate until the end." Dan hugged me from behind, (Bff name) watched with wide eyes.
"I thought you and J-"
"We were never together." I cut her off before she could finish.
"Oh well I'm happy that happened. You and Dan are so much cuter." (Bff name) said walking over to Dan and I, hugging us both. "Plus you were way out of his league."
"Thanks (Bff name)."

Sorry that I'm cutting this chapter short but I need to have something to start off next chapter, plus k don't want this to be a 20 or 30 pages chapter so cutting it short is the best way to go.
I'd give you guys gifs to show my appreciation for getting this book to 2K but I'm in the road right now, yep I'm on my first summer vacation.
