Feather's POV

Brandon and I walked outside. I was dragging the mace by my side. We stopped in the field we trained in a while back. "Now, start swinging the flail around at a constant speed." Brandon instructed. I put my non-dominated hand on the end of the chain and my dominate hand a few inches up. I twirled my wrist and it started flailing. I noticed it slowing down and it came up and hit my arm. In pain, I fell to the ground, holding my arm. Brandon walks over to me and just stands there, just like he did that one night we were training...... I look up at him. He slightly smirks.

"What are you waiting for?" He says in an almost condescending tone. I grit my teeth and get up. He smiles and steps back. "Now, you need to keep it moving at a constant speed or else you will loose control." He told me. I took a second shot at it, swinging it faster. I became intimidated and tried to stop it. Big mistake. Instead, it hit me right in the chest and knocked the wind out of me. I toppled to the ground, taking in gulps of air.

Once my breathing became normal I curled up. "What's the use.... I'm never going to learn how to use a mace.."
I pout. Concern flashes in Brandon eyes. He walks over to me and sits down beside me. "Sure you will! Here, I'll help you...." He says, putting his arm around me. "You've already been helping me..." I grumble. He chuckles. "I'll have to help you more" he says, getting up. He offers me his hand. He's too sweet..... I take it. I expect him to let go, but instead he picks up the mace with his free hand. He puts the chain in my hands and places his hands over mine. "Now, start twirling the chain." He said softly. I started twirling the chain, picking up speed ......... I feel like a little kid learning how to do something. Brandon eased up as I began to get more control. It soon started spinning too fast. I let go, but Brandon's hands held on. The Ball O Hurt began spiraling out of control. I felt the shard metal make contact with my jaw. I recoil In pain, the force sending me to the ground, taking Brandon with me. My jaw screeches in pain.

"Feather?! Are you okay?!" Brandon asks. I shake my head. He frowns and places his hand on my jaw, cupping my face. He tilts my head up. As soon as I look into his dark brown eyes, my heart starts beating faster. He smiles as I feel our faces get closer....... And closer..... And closer...

"KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS!" I hear multiple people chanting. I jerk away to see Darius and Gus sitting on a rock nearby. "DUDE! WHY DIDN'T YOU KISS HER?!??" Darius shouts. My face turns pink. "I-- I wasn't going to k-kiss her!" Brandon stutters. "Yeah! I don't even feel that way towards him!" I shot back (feather.... You dun screwed up) Brandon looked at me. His eyes full of emotion and his coppery hair askew. Surely I don't feel that way towards him......... But.... The way he smiles.... His hugs..... The way he smells like fresh air and a pine forest.... How he comforts me when I have a nightmare.....his soft chuckles....
....

....

GAH! WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?!?

I look away from Brandon's gaze. "UHHHHHHH... Shall we continue training?" He offers. I stand up and nod. He watches as I start swinging the flail. As soon as I gets to a certain speed, I swing it outwards. Brandon looks at me in awe. "You did it!" He cheered. "I did?" I reply stupidly. He nods and hugs me. "I knew you could do it!" He praises. I blush. "Thanks Brandon." I say. In all the excitement, I didn't realize that the sun was setting. We started our way back to the house where Gus and Darius sat, smirking, when all of a sudden, I hear a loud crash. I turn around and see something crash in the ground far away. "A meteorite had landed..." Brandon said softly. I watched as the moon began to rise in the distance. Instead of the off white moon, I see a murky red color casted over the surface.

A blood moon is rising.....
