Feather's POV

I felt a burning sensation in my shoulder. It felt like my skin was on fire. I slowly opened my eyes to see Brandon peering down on me. I felt something wrapped around my hand. It was his hand. He laced his fingers with mine.

"Oh thank goodness you're okay!" Brandon said. I laugh.

"Of Course I'm okay! Why wouldn't I be?" I asked. His embrace on my hand tightened.

"You almost died! If it weren't for that guy, you would of died!" He said. What guy? I don't know that many people............Brandon didn't...........Darius didn't...........Gus wouldn't have...........Norkas is.........Norkas........That only leaves-

Yup! In the flesh- er......Mind?

You saved me? How?

Well after I told you multiple times not to go into the corruption, I knew that you would get yourself hurt so I traveled to your house. Brandon's a pretty good guy, very nice.

...........Thank you

No problem, but I think Brandon is trying to get your attention.

I watched as Brandon waved his hand frantically in front of my face.

"Helloooo?" He said. I stared into his eyes.

"Yeah?" I reply dumbly.

"Let me look at your shoulder." He said. I sat up in the bed and turned my back to him.

Brandon's POV

As soon as she turned around, I wished she didn't. Molly had been grateful enough to remove part of her shirt where the Eater of Souls bit her, but that was a mistake. Four long, jagged scars ran across her tanned skin. It kinda looks like teeth marks. The scars are purple and swollen. I trace my fingers over them.

"Ah!" Feather shouts in pain. I jerk my hand back.

"S-sss--sorry!" I stutter. She turns back around.

"So......Is It bad?" She asks. I take no hesitation and nod vigorously. She sighs.

"I guess I learned my lesson." She said, chuckling softly. I sit down next to her. I watch curiously as she swings her feet out of her bed.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"I need to get back out there! My first expedition isn't going to end like this." She says. She staggers out of bed and falls. Just before she hits the ground, I catch her.

"Feather! You need to rest! I don't like seeing you hurt!" I say. She pouts.

"I don't need rest!" she yawns. I set her back in bed.

"Yes you do. I care about you too much to go and see you do something stupid and hurt yourself even more." I retort. She sits up in bed.

"What?" She asks, furrowing her eyebrows. Crap. Did I say that last part aloud?

"Nothing! Just try to get some rest, Ok?" I reply sharply. She looks down. I go to leave the room before she says something.

"Brandon?" She says softly. I turn around and stare into her emerald green eyes.

"Can you keep me company? At least, come sit with me?" She requests. I sigh. I still am pretty steamed that she went into the corruption and nearly killed herself, but that doesn't stop me from sitting next to her on her bed. She rested her head on my shoulder.

"I missed you, Brandon." She whispers.

"I missed you too............" I manage to muster out.

If she missed me after a day, then what will she do once she makes the ultimate sacrifice?
