Feather POV

Luckily Brandon was standing right behind me, or else I would of mangled this guy's vocal chords out. I study the guy that I have pinned on the ground. His dark brown eyes oh-so-Similar to Brandon's were pleading with fear.

He was breathing heavily. I look over to see his accomplice, who was wearing robes and a turban. He had readied some form of cutlass. "Feather?! What are you doing?!?" Brandon shouted. I rolled my eyes.

"This guy.... Shot you!" I snap back. Brandon sighed.

"It was just paint--"

"SO?!"

Oh! So I see you met the people I sent your way!

You..... WHAATT?!?

Yeah, they were looking for you. But they weren't looking to shoot Brandon, they're a little.... Tipsy.

Are you sure they didn't come here to potentially kill Brandon?

Positive. Jeez.... You got really protective of him...

Yeah... He's my best friend

Ouch.

Oh come on!

Are you sure he's your best friend? Just your best friend?

Well.... Yeah...

Mmhm. Sure. I know the way you look at him....

"Feather? Feather! Can you get off of the poor guy?" Brandon's voice brought me back to reality. I blink a few times before I roll off of the guy. Brandon grabs my shoulders "You okay?" He asks, I slowly nod. My body turns as I look at the two men who are starting at me intently.

"What brings you two to me anyways," I ask, brushing a strand of hair away from my face. The guy I had pinned pops up off the ground. This gives me a prefect time to scan him. He was wearing a bright red hat and shirt with a pair of milky white overalls.

"Well I'm Luca, I'm a painter, and this here is my friend, Yuptan. He makes and trades dyes." The guy explained. "I bring you the richest dyes in exchange for your riches!" The other guy, Yuptan, boasts.

"Well... That does explain the paintball gun.." Brandon said, nodding towards it. Hmm. That does make sense... Two drunk idiots with a paintball gun....

"Well... I guess you can move in with us... I just have to build a few more rooms...." I offer. "Thank you, kind Feather" Yuptan thanked.

I sighed. "Yeah, no problem, just.... Follow me..." I said, motioning towards them. We started walking. Hmm. We haven't had new people for a while now...hm...

I'm going to have my work cut out for me trying to make two more rooms.

By the time we arrived back at the house, it was already noon. I take a deep breath as soon as I walk through the door. "Alright, Luca, Yuptan, feel free to make yourselves at home, I'm going to go make your rooms" I say.

I quickly jog back to our room and scoop up my bag and copper axe. Just as I was about to dip out the door, Brandon appears in the doorway.

"Hey, do you need any help?" He offered, genuinely helpful. I shake my head. "Are you sure? You're going to have to chop all that wood, build the rooms, and make two beds, in a few short hours. I can help, I'm here to help you." He continued. I softly chuckled.

"You're too sweet, Brandon. But I think I got it, I just have to work fast," I say, putting my hand on his shoulder. I barrel past him and go out the door.

After the seventh tree, sweat was pouring down my forehead. My mouth was dry and my hands were getting blistered. Instinctively, I stop and rest, propping my axe on the tree. (Half way there, she stops to rest, Thinks about the guy that she loves best)

After I regain my breath, I pick my axe back up and swing it as hard as I can, sending wood chips flying. A few hit and scratch my face. As the sun continues it's journey across the sky, my axe keep hacking down trees. Of course I plant some more , I'm not a jerk. My breath quickened as I obliterated more trees.

I already had enough wood, but I continued. All of a sudden, everything flashed red. My body sways as the world starts spinning. I struggle to keep upright. The tree I was desperately clinging onto didn't help.

My vision fades as I head towards the ground.

My ears start ringing as I find my way back to consciousness. "Feather?!? Feather?!" Brandon calls out.

Brandon's POV

Her eyes slowly fluttered open. When her eyes were open, she winced in pain. "Brandon? W-what happened?" She croaked out.

"You passed out from heat stroke.... I was worried about you.." I say. I didn't have to add that last part in. All of a sudden, Her eyes go wide. "WAIT! The rooms! No! No!" She says, trying to push herself out of her bed.

"Don't worry... I took care of it... Lay back down." I say softly. She looked confused for a minute. "You.. Did...? But---..... Thank you Brandon..... What would I do without you?" She says. Her eyes slowly close.

What will she do without me?

I stretch my arms up to the ceiling. Ah.. So this is why Feather is usually tired after building... My back pops.

My feet slowly drag as I climb into bed. My body turns as I lay on my side, looking at Feather. She rolls about in her sleep. Hmm. I wonder if she's okay? She's not this restless of a sleeper.

Her blanket flutters to the floor. Being the guy I am, I step out of bed and retrieve her blanket. I put it back over her. She instinctively smiles.

I then tuck her in. It was now I realize that I was really close to her face. Without thinking, I give her a quick peck on the forehead.

"Good night Feather, I love you.." I say softly before retreating back to my bed.
