Book: One; Midnight Kiss.
Chapter: Fourteen; Blood Bound.
The crowd began whispering, and murmuring.
"Father!" I hissed.
"Yes, my dear?"
"You can't force me to be engaged to Bel!"
"Why not?"
"We won't get along!"
"Oh we'll see. Won't we?"
I shook my head, and walked down the stage.
"Oh dear, are you alright?" Salvatrice said.
"Not feeling well. I'm going out for some fresh air." I muttered.
"Okay..." She said.
I walked out of the ballroom, and down into a dark corner. I slid down the wall, and for no reason, I began to cry. It was ridiculous, it was stupid. I knew I shouldn't cry just because things had gone out of my way. But I just felt like it. It felt great. As though a million and one ton of weight had been thrown off my chest. Someone stood beside me, covering the light. I blinked,
and looked at the person.
Oh, why did it have to be Bel?
"Hey, are you okay?" He asked quietly.
"I'm fine." I said.
"You don't look fine to me actually." he said, sitting down beside me.
"How can you be so calm and cool?" I said, glaring at him.
"Truth is, when I first arrived back in Italy, father already told me. I just didn't want you to
know yet." he explained.
"Ugh." I said, glaring at the floor.
"Don't worry. I'm just as shocked as you are."
"The fact is, I can't stand your attitude. And I haven't really forgiven you for earlier." I snapped,
standing up.
"You don't have to act all bitchy just because of that!" He complained.
"Whatever. I still can't forgive you. And until I do, I won't be talking to you!" I said, walking back to my room.
Resting on my bed when I returned was two palm-sized crystals. It wasn't flat, it wasn't bulky
either. One was shaped heart, and was shaped spade. The heart crystal was decorated in midnight red, and had a Gothic decoration with colors of black and scarlet red. The spade crystal was decorated in midnight blue, Gothic decorations in colors of black and sky blue. I lifted the spade crystal up, and it cracked, revealing a miniaturized girl in a black silky halter necked dress, her skirt was short, and it had lace. She wore a blue hair band with a black spade over it. Hanging over her body was a dark colored electric guitar.
"Kombawa." She greeted.
I stared at her with wide eyes.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Your Acez Guardian character. What your dream is to be. When you guys have enough confidence, we'll appear! But, only students in the student council have Acez Guardian Characters."
"You're name?" I mused.
"Kaori Karin!" She said cheerfully.
"Ah. I see. I wonder who is in here then?" I asked, spinning the heart crystal in my palm. It was almost midnight. I was exhausted. Oh no, my time better change back soon. If not I'm going to be in deep trouble for being late for school soon.
