When I opened my door, I saw Georgina sitting on her bed, her eyes worried. But when she saw me standing at the door, her worry dispersed, relief spelt all over her face. Before she could get to me, my fist clenched, over my heart, I bent towards her in a respectful manner.
"My lady." I said. Georgina stopped, her eyes wide and shocked. After a minute, her eyes slowly turned back gentle and kind. She pulled me into an embrace.
"You scared me to death, my custodian." her voice was calm and gentle.
I blinked, and I smiled gently, hugging her back.
"I'm sorry." I said, letting her go.
She let me go, and sat down on her own bed. I sat down on mine, which was opposite hers. She smiled, and she began to explain Sworn Bloods and Destined bloods.
"Sword Bloods are like me. Royal. We've the blood of two Sworn Bloods in us. Whereas you Destined bloods, have the blood of a Sworn Blood and a strong blood of Destined bloods. And we're--" She stopped halfway, because I raised my hands to stop her.
"Georgina, I already know all this. aristocracy are middle classed vampires, also known as Nobles. And finally, there's a clan of vampires that are clearly not allowed at all." I said, emphasizing on the word, not.
"And they're known as?" Georgina challenged.
"Cryptos." I said, smiling. She grinned slightly.
She looked as though she was going to prepare for classes, but I guessed I worried her.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Why, A quarter past One in the morning. Why?" Georgina replied.
"No reason, I've got to go to the library. Um, to do some research." I lied.
I stood up, and walked to the door.
"It's still school hours. You'll get caught skipping class!" Georgina said.
"It's just me isn't it? I'm always takings risks." I said, turning the door knob open, and gave Georgina one last glance, and a grin before shutting the door behind me.
I walked down the stairs, thinking of myself. It was really scary. Really. At one time, I was just human. Now, I'm a destined blood. My vampire instincts kicked in when I'm a sophomore. Why hell, I can't be a vampire now. I wondered why was I turned into a destined blood after I was born, not once I was born? Memories of me being younger about one or two came back, and I saw my mother in my memories.
Because in this academy, we're not allowed to see our parents. I took a detour, since it was early. I walked down the pitch black corridor, but I could see clearly. I walked briskly down. I wanted to know why was I different from all destined bloods. There was still ten minutes before two. Remembering, as I was still human, I thought of why the school hours were at night instead of day. Now, finally as I turned into a vampire, I knew why. Destined bloods, Sworn Bloods, Aristocracy. We can take in any amount of sunlight. It just hurts and pierces our eyes.
So we try to avoid sunlight. Surprisingly, all the human students could study at night too. I stopped outside the library. Took in a deep breath, and opened the door.
I stepped into the library, Ms. Annesley sat at the library's reception. Her eyes glanced up, skeptic, and then she returned to what she was doing. I suppressed a sigh. I already had a bad record. So the teachers wouldn't mind if I broke a small rule. I guess. I walked over to the computer room, and sat down in front of a computer and began my research.
After five minutes or so, I couldn't find any relevant information. I continued searching, until I heard the main door of the library squeak open. Curious, I turned off the computer, walked out of the room. Talking to Ms. Annesley, I couldn't see who he was. But he was really tall. He had dark brownish black hair, which was messy, and didn't seem to want to look tidy at all, but it was cute. One hand on the table, as he whispered more to Ms. Annesley.
Quietly, I leaned against the wall, to see who was this guy. Ms. Annesley shook her head, and the guy turned around. I took in a sharp intake of breath, again for the second time today, as his pale midnight blue eyes searched the library. His black hair covered his forehead, and touched his eyebrows. His sky blue eyes were deep, and looked like a sea. He looked incredibly good-looking, drop dead gorgeous.
"Rosaline Hunt?" his voice low, deep, seductive. I nodded, my voice seemed to get stuck in my throat.
"My name's Lukas Wilkins. Georgina's second custodian."
Oh. My. God. I was getting such a hot guy as my mentor? It was seriously unbelievable! I could practically die on the spot.
"You're a sophomore right?" He asked.
"Yup." I finally said. He smiled, a small one though.
"Alright, We'll begin practice tomorrow. All Destined bloods have the power of an illusionist am I right?"
"Yes."
"We'll practice that tomorrow." I nodded, and he smiled again.
I walked out of the library's door, my heart thumping hard against my chest. Rosaline Hunt, you've got a too hot guy for you as your mentor!
