"Karin? Y... You're the Karin..." Zane stared at me with a surprised look as he stared at me. Zane? He can't be the Zane... Zane... I missed you for some reason.
"I... I don't know..." I sighed to myself. Holding my head tightly, trying to ooze the headache.
I felt Zane's strong arms, pulling me to him in a hug. "I love you Karin. I'm sorry for everything I did to you. I was stupid and I... I just... I don't understand what I did back then."
"It's fine Zane. I said I would forgive you and I did." He pulled away a bit and kissed me passionately. I can't think. My headache is fading away. The only thing I could think about is him. And only him.
"Jared... isn't that your ex's name?" He pulled away with a chuckle. I nodded as I hugged him. "You Angels get put into teams right?" I nodded. "Us demons too. Who's your teammates?"
"Angel 9038628 and Angel 8789369." Zane soft expression turned into an awkward one.
"Give them names."
"Um... Kimberly and Melissa. Better?"
"Better." He laughed.
"Who's your teammates?"
"A newbie, James and.... Well... Jared..."
"Jared?!" I grabbed his shoulders tightly. "Jared?! Like Jared?!"
"Yes... Jeez. Don't get so excited. After all you're mine now. Not his." Zane frowned.
"I-I know... it's just that... I want to meet him."
"Well it make you happy?"
"Yes... yes it would."
Zane stared at me for a moment or two then sighed. "Fine, but he's working... so... um... please don't bother him..."
I nodded as he grabbed my arm and slowly flew high into the sky. He didn't seem happy it all. "Zane... I promise I'll be right next to you and I will never ever leave you." I cupped his cheek with my right hand, putting on my brightest slight smile.
"With that promise... I feel much better, cutie." He chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist, slowly flying down to a building. I looked around, looking for a brown haired and brown eyed guy, somewhere around the street. "Um... cutie...? He's not on the ground." Zane's finger held my head up by my chin as his other hand pointed to another building's rooftop.
There in the distance was a man with his dark black wings covering his body like a blanket. I slowly flew towards him, smiling. "Jared?" I whispered. Without even thinking twice, I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him tightly. "It's... me... Karin..."
"K-Karin?" He looked over at me and his sad expression that he had changed into a smile. "You're here?! You're an angel! That's ama-... wait... how do you remember me...? Oh great... it's you..."
Looking behind me was Zane, bowing down with a chuckle. "Isn't it amazing to see you again?"
"Leave Karin alone." Jared pulled my arm forcefully and pulled me behind me, making it hard for me to see Zane since I was shorter than Jared and Jared's wings were covering Zane.
"How can I leave my Karin alone?"
"Your Karin?!" Uh-oh. Jared's voice grew louder. "Last time I checked, she was mine!"
"That was a couple of years ago. You gave up on finding her and by accident I found her." Zane's voice didn't even rose nor lower down a bit. "After all, we're dating and she promised she would never leave my side, right Karin?"
"You made a promise Karin?" Jared turned around, his eyes piercing straight into my eyes, burning my insides. "Did you?"
"I-I... I did." Ugh... great job Karin...
"But... wait... who kissed you Karin? Who gave you back your memory? Who?" Within a second, I felt pain in my shoulders with each question that Jared asked me as he squeezed them tightly.
"Zane... Zane... Zane..." I closed my eyes. I can't see those eyes. The eyes that I've always hated. The eyes of hatred and sadness. "Please don't feel bad, Jared."
His strong and tight grip let go of my shoulders as I slowly slid down to the ground on my knees. I'm really sorry Jared. That's all I wanted to say. I'm sorry.
"Why would you let her break the rules?! Don't you remember what happens?!" And they're still arguing.
"You would've let her also and you know that... and... I do. But don't worry Jared. I have everything planned out." What happens? What does Zane have in his mind?
"Oh really you idiot? What's your plan?" I stared at them as Zane's face turned blank from the question. He has nothing.
"Um... just... why do you care? It doesn't involve you in it."
"So you have nothing, right?" Great... I'm doomed.
"Don't worry. If it does happen, then I will come up with a plan, understood?"
"Zane...?" I whispered at him, confused.
"Yes, cutie." He smiled at me. "Cutie, don't worry. Nothing bad will happen. I promise." I can't believe this but I'm putting my trust on him.
"Okay th-"
"You trust him?!" Looking over at Jared, he had a glare that I... that I never saw before.
"I do, Jared. I do trust him." I nodded, looking at Zane with a slight smile.
"Ugh... you've changed a lot Karin." Jared's wings stretched out, showing how large they were. His wings were a bit larger than Zane's and more intimidating. "Good luck with the idiot..." With that, Jared left. Leaving me on the floor with Zane and not knowing what to do anymore.
"Hmm... an idiot, huh Jared?" Zane softly whispered but I could still hear him.
An idiot? Zane? I couldn't agree more....
