REMUS MAKES HIS WAY UP THE STAIRS to the Gryffindor men's dorms.   When he gets up to the door he realizes he doesn't know the password. Someone pushes past Remus and his bags fall to the ground and so does he.

"Oh, shit. I'm so sorry!"

Remus looks up and sees Sirius Black staring down at him. "Oh. Hello, Sirius." Remus says, swallowing. Sirius smiles Remus swears his heart skipped a beat.  Sirius holds his hand out and Remus takes it as he lifts him up. Remus' fingertips tingle as he lets go of Sirius' hand and grabs his bag and his telescope.

"Hello, Remus. I didn't know you went here," he says, rubbing the back of his neck.

"This is my first year - I got a scholarship to study here. Do you know the password to get it?" Remus asks.

Sirius' eyes gleam. "I'm a sophomore here, and yes I do know the password. This is my House anyways." Suddenly Remus is reminded of the glasses in his bag. He watches Sirius as he turns to the door and says the password (which was oddly 'Dragon Blood'), and he watches the door swing open.

"Thank you," Remus mumbles, pulling his bags behind him. The door shuts with a click and it startles Remus. He remembers the darkness and the smoke.

"Remus!"

He has to breathe - Breathe, Remus - he tells himself. "Are you okay?" It's Sirius; his hands are on Remus' shoulders and Remus wants to implode right there into a black hole but he can't.

He regains his focus. "I'm fine, sorry. Oh, uh...you left your glasses on the train last night and I picked them up." Remus says, pulling the glasses out of his bag carefully. He hands them to Sirius.

"I was looking for them everywhere. Thank you. Oh, this is the Common Room. All the other guys and girls meet in here just to hang out or study or whatever. The rooms are farther back." Sirius says, slipping his glasses on.

Remus nods. "Thanks."

Sirius smiles. "No problem, now I need to get headed to my room, ninety-three."

Remus can feel some heat rising to his cheeks and waves at the other boy as he walks to the rooms. He looks down at the envelope in his hand and sees his room number.

You've got to be kidding me.

Remus blinks at the number, sighing. He makes his way down the corridor to room ninety-three. Remus opens the doors begrudgingly and finds Sirius on his bed half-naked.

Remus coughs and Sirius looks up and falls off the bed, startled.

Remus starts laughing at the flustered boy trying to regain his dignity. "Oh shit... I didn't-I'm sorry.." Sirius stutters, grabbing a shirt and throwing it on.

"It's fine, you didn't know," Remus says, smiling. He pulls his bags inside the room and looks at the stack of labeled boxes. Remus was kind of a neat-freak. Even when he packed his books he alphabetized them and color coded his shirts.

Sirius plops back onto his bed. His side of the room is filled with photos - some of them intricate and creative portraits - and others group photos or just scenery. Remus giggles slightly at the state of Sirius' hair; it's thick, black curls protruding upwards.
