Entry 9: Death Disguised

With the party going on groups of students began meeting their possible mentors. There was food and drink of all kinds, but the party in itself was wearing a mask of its own. In spite of joyous celebrations the level of seriousness that this process takes is so dense you could cut it with a knife.

Even I sometimes hire people during this time for my own personal intern, but it is always in the event of an emergency. For example the largest emergency ever is if I die before Death and I change our positions. For five hours heaven time, my essence will hover over my corpse. Whoever touches it will become the new Life. A position of honor and responsibility. Daisy would be great for inheriting it, but I'm not croaking yet. However, should I be wrong, I have Daisy who will know if I die and has a little tracking device on my aura to make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. The assistant I choose for Daisy is if she becomes Life. She's going to need it if death doesn't find meaning in life early which would in turn render her in the same state.

I scanned the crowd looking for angels, when I stumbled upon a lady dressed in a very nice black dress one that seems to be familiar. Is that death? I feel her presence in the crowd... impossible she hates social gatherings nowadays... that girl seems to be a new reaper... well let's give her the good ol' Life Welcome. I thought as I waded through the crowd of reapers. Some going to Hades, some going to Grell, and some male reapers trying to hit on the lady I am approaching.

As I finally got close enough to talk to this mysterious reaper I got to better see her dress, mas, and body figure.... it wasn't Death's.

"Hello young reaper, "I greeted her with my golden mask over my eyes. "Enjoying the party?" I asked.

"Yeah, just looking for a job you know." She said.

"Well you're out of my domain as you are a reaper looking for anyone specific?" I inquired.

"Yes I am just looking for the king of the uderworld." She stated.

" My that's ambitious of you he's really tough on his interns but let's just see where he is..." I replied.

I looked around the room to find Hades, Death's crush and as she claims future husband. I find him talking to another female reaper in the far corner of the room. Hades seemed to like this reaper alot. Death would be jealous. This girl is no stranger to flirting, but something is off about that reaper I feel as though something darker is in her mind. This wouldn't be the first time the Organization was trying to do me and the whole of reality in. She could be a spy. I dismiss these thoughts as The Organization died years ago when we occupied Germany in WWII after D-day and even after nuking Japan right in the head quarters. Sadly innocent lives were also shed, but a big terrorist cult like that needed to be wiped out. My ramblings inside my head left the poor reaper to constantly move her head around me trying to see if Hades was there.

"I found him young one, but he seems to be taking to another reaper right now maybe if you swing by later? Oh foolish me I forgot to introduce myself I am Life." I said apologetically.

"You? Life? No way!" She exclaimed.

"Yup I made a big introduction at the start of the ceremony. I suppose you arrived a little late, no worries though there are plenty of refreshments and entertainment. Go enjoy your time here in heaven." I said ecstatic to see someone star struck by my presence.
Today went by as most celebrations go up here, full of joy and full, smiling faces as the reapers returned to the rather glum underworld. And the Angels helped clean up the clouds and venue. It was a good day. I just hope that mysterious stranger found Hades before she left. It'd be a shame if he didn't hire such a polite reaper.
