"Now with that skirmish out of the way it's time to resume the ceremony of promotion. And the continued celebration of St. Valentine." I announced amidst the crowd of confusion.
"Someone accessed the portal to the void for improper use, he paid the ultimate price by losing in his challenge. The angel that once worked with us is now gone from existence into the void, sealed by his defeat." Valentine explained."Now let us resume the promotions starting with..." the names went from A, all the way down to Z. Little did Daisy know I have put in a good word before the Almighty to promote her as well.
"Crystal you are promoted to cherubim, we welcome you to your new position. Next up we have Daisy, you know her as my faithful and trusted secretary. It is my honor to ann-"
"You mean your wife?" Death shouted from the underworld loud enough for us to hear.
I silenced her by throwing a scroll at her head my aim's gotten better as I heard the thud.
"As I was saying... it is my honor to promote Daisy to the position of Guardian Angel and by extension, you have risen to the ranks of Archangel. Archangels are tasked with protecting mortals from hexes, curses, and our fallen brothers and sisters. They also enforce the laws of God as God will only intervene in mortal affairs when it is needed. That means Daisy that you will no longer be in my office, you instead will take a field job that I feel will let you spread your wings. Please rise and accept your power and blessing." I announced before the crowd.
Daisy flew to the stage, Valentine and I, with our arms outstretched blessed daisy and anointed her with holy oil. I then created her blade from the forge of heaven, presented her, a shining blade endowed with the fires of the Holy Spirit.
"Wield it well Daisy, I've never been so proud, cut down evil and protect God's creations." I congratulated her, presenting her sword.
"But I want to stay with you, don't get me wrong I am honored... but I like my job as your secretary," Daisy whispered to me.
"Daisy, don't you want to spread your wings?" I whispered back.
"I'd like to stay with you, but if you want me to I'll give it a shot," Daisy replied reluctantly.
"Very good, you'll do great!" I reassured her.
Look as much as everyone wants us to be together I feel as though I've been restricting her to this office. We all need some time apart once in every great while. Besides, I feel like she could use the stretching of her wings. I always liked it when she'd take flight.... which reminds me when was the last time I flew? But I sensed I reaper in the ceremony's presence, a former Angel gone rogue to the underworld. All because I said no after she professed her love to me. She had spent too much time on the mortal earth and was tainted with Death's influence. Selena.... her obsession forced me to cast her out and caused her to rebirth as a human, but as she encountered Shinra she chose the way of being a reaper. She is as psychopathic as Death is doing her murder sprees for her since Hades married her.
"You shall be assigned to Thomas in Massachusetts. Daisy, protect him from the evils of the earth. You shall report to my office weekly. You will have times off, of course, and Gabriel shall take your place when you need off time." I announced, " Now take flight!" I commanded.
And with that, the ceremony continued and Daisy took flight, she was weary and scared of what would become of her relationship with Life she loved him and wanted to be with him always. She thought this was punishment, but then she beheld Thomas. The sweet and innocent youth, and immediately she grew fond of the boy protecting him with all her might. In school, the bullies were blinded by his guardian. Tommy was known as the magic kid. And the days came to pass when things got difficult, demons were attracted to Tommy after the incidents listed in her case study. Daisy was one who did not like harming others but you best believe she went on a rampage when the demons so much laid a finger on Tommy.
