Peter's story started the same way as every creature's living on Earth. He was born in February 8th in 1996 at 8.36pm. He was born in a loving family, (who showed its love in quite unique ways,) whose social status is higher than it would deserve.
His mother is a succesful business woman who's running her own company in New York. Peter's 18-years-old little sister Janet works at her mother's company. She seems to be the favourite child, which (to be honest) happens to be problem of every family in human history. She's not that clever either, but she's beautiful. I guess that makes sense, doesn't it?
Their father left when Peter was 12. According to his mother, he left because he is a "manipulative piece of shit who can't do anything right." Atleast that's what she told to her kids back then, which is quite outspoken considering that the one's to hear it were in ages of 10 and 12.
Truly the reason behind their father's lift-off was way more complicated, but long story short: he had numerous problems with his wife and mother of his kids, and those tore up his whole life outside the home. Let's say Peter's mother can be quite oppressive and distrustful. Therefore life with her can be little more than a little frustrating. And if anyone, Peter knows it very well. He was the one to suffer for her mother pressuring her first born on his career, which happened to be such cliche as the disagreement between parents and their kids. So from this point of view Peter's story doesn't diverge from the mass of stories.
But the question is: how excatly is our spotlight boy supposed to arouse interest in anyone? Or, even more accurate; how is this all supposed to arouse your interest? You know, nothing stops you from closing your display terminal and going to do something reasonable, or actually doing something with your life? Or is it just so appealing to find out what does the Universe have to do with any this? Well, you'll soon be one to find out.
Peter Cooke is enjoying himself at a local coffee shop. He's trying to find some inspiration for the big succesful article that would help him to get a job - he doesn't have any future plans whatsoever (atleast not ones that would actually work,) but for a while he has wanted to become a journalist. Every previous career dream of his has been shot down by his loving mother. She used to tell him he's not smart enough to find employment as a veterinarian.
His eyes frantically searched around the room for even the smallest sign that he'd find interesting. Nothing has he found so far, which was a little dissapointing for him. However, his train of thought is soon stopped by an interesting conversation on the table behind him.
"No, you don't understand me at all do you?" He hears feminine voice speaking. "That's not how we're gonna find..." "Shut up!" The woman says to the man who was talking with her. "We must keep it a secret. No one else can know about it. Besides, this isn't even why we're here. I'm sure you understand that if we get caught, we'll be in big trouble..." The woman says quietly to her that partner of hers. "I do realize this mission threatens to undermine your whole career, but please... This is important, I can feel it in my bones. We must find him as soon as possible before the shit gets serious..."
Peter couldn't believe how lucky he would be to capture this... Thing, secret or whatever and turn it into an article! This sounds like some sort of secret service kind of case... Or a police case. Whatsoever, he believes that if he'd find out what this case was all about, he could actually get a job as a well-paid reporter on news or... Maybe he could even write a column on popular local paper or have his own space every week and write down his thoughts!
He hears the twosome behind him collecting their stuff and getting ready to go. Peter finishes his coffee and waits for the two of them leave so he could follow them. He makes sure that neither of them gets suspicious by waiting for a while before going after them.
When he gets out, he sees the woman getting in to a taxi and closing the door. "Taxi!" Peter shouts while shaking his hands. "Follow that car!" He says to the driver pointing at the car the twosome had just entered. "Sure," the driver says and kicks off the taximeter.
Before Peter's adventure, which has just started, goes any futher, I must say that this is so typical of him. Of course if he was able to think a little more versatile, would he have understood that a) it wouldn't be smart to ruin a secret mission which includes catching someone, b) the police, secret service or any other organization behind the operation would be giving him hard time after he releases the article and finally c) chasing a villain might actually get violent.
But of course we're - again - talking about a human being who just doesn't happen to be very intelligent one...
