Adrianna called me and said that some Detective Bones was on the case. I asked her if the Detective was a skeleton or not. She said it wasn't funny and reminded me to keep my mouth shut.

At exactly 5:00 p.m, there was a knock at the door. I found that strange since there was a bell outside. Since mom was at her kitty party and dad at work, I was stuck with my nanny. Yeah still. But the nanny usually slept all the time. I opened the door and found a charming guy at the door. Behind him, was a lady in her mid-twenties.

The guy said, 'Hi! I am James. Can we come in?'

I said, 'Sure.'

Once they were seated, I asked them, 'Can I help you? Would you like a cup of tea or coffee?'

Jake was about to respond when the lady spoke, 'A glass of water shall suffice. For James too.'

Her voice was mysterious. I smiled and brought the tap water. I then sat down on the sofa.

'So?' I said with a smile.

'I have been very rude. Let me introduce myself,' the lady said while James stared at the ceiling, 'I am Vera Bones. Detective Bones for you. I want to ask you some questions regarding last night.'

Suddenly fear engulfed me.

I gulped and said, 'Please continue.'

'According to my reports, you and 3 others were there last night. Could you confirm?'

'Well, I was there for a stroll. Don't know about others. Why?' I asked as innocently as I could.

'We recovered two bodies there. You may have already heard the news,' she said. I nodded politely

She continued,'We wanted to ask you if you had noticed anything unusual in the woods. Your fingerprints were found on a trunk nearby. You said you were out for a stroll, right?'

'Yes, but I don't think I saw anything strange there. Do you know whose bodies were recovered?'

'I believe they're in your highschool, Emma and Amber.'

I pretended to be shocked and gasped.

'They were buried.'

I frowned at this since all of us four had left the scene. I remembered leaving the last so there was no chance of the others burying the bodies. It was very strange as out of all of us, nobody would have had the guts to go back.

My thoughts were interrupted by Detective Bones, 'Do you remember something?

Shit. She must have noticed my expressions.

'Oh! N-nothing. I just remembered that I need to go to my friend's house to complete my homework,' I stammered.

'Whose house?' she asked rather sharply.

'Claire,' I said, not knowing what else to say.

The detective raised her eyebrows and said,'That's interesting. We'd liked to accompany you.'

As soon as she said that, Jake lost his interest from the ceiling and stared at Detective Bones.

She calmly stared back and nodded. Jake gave a frustrated sigh and got up.

He looked at me,'You should probably get your stuff.'

I was utterly confused but murmured 'yes' and went to my room to get some books.
