The crime scene was now filled with people from the forensic department. Someone came to tell the Detective that there were no fingerprints and that Claire's hair had been dyed black, which partially explained the black on banisters.

Claire's parents were in Croatia and had been summoned. They were flying back to US next week, as scheduled.

Sometimes holidays are more important than your kids, thought Detective Bones.

With a final sigh, James turned to Bones. 'How're you holding up?'

'That a trick question?' Bones said frowning.

Hands in his pockets, blue eyes and dark hair. James was a good name for him. He smiled, shaking his head. 'You're impossible.'

Bones looked up at the clear night sky. 'Ever wondered why I gave you the name James?'

'Plenty of times. Never knew why though.'

'You remind me of James Dean. Heard of him?'

'Never,' James said.

'Oh my, you've been living under a rock. As soon as this mess is over, I'm showing you some of his greatest hits.'

'Thanks though. I appreciate everything you've done for me.'

'Dave, honey, don't thank me. This was the least I could do after.. you know,' Vera was quick to look away.

'James, Detective, it's James now.'

But that story is for another time. Now, with Claire dead, Adrianna out to get vengeance and Rosetta and Gwen still out in the open, will Detective Bone be able to work out a way to save the innocents?
