I was having my afternoon siesta when my cellphone beeped. I ignored it and was about to sleep when it rang.

I picked it up and said drowsily, 'Hallo?'

'Get out of the house. Now.'

'Excuse me? Who is this?'

'A friend. Get out, now.'

'What kind of sick joke is this?'

'You are in danger. Get your ass out now.'

'Mind your language miss or mister—'

Before I could say anything, a huge sound came from the kitchen. I froze.

Grandma was out shopping right now and Grandpa was out in some old bar.

I tried contacting the other caller again but it said out of reach each time.

I ran downstairs. The kitchen window was broken. A stone was thrown inside with paper wrapped around it.

It had a note, "Look Out".

Suddenly another stone was hurled towards me. I ducked just in time.

A series of stones kept coming. I crawled on the floor and made my way upstairs. I then, closed the window of my bedroom, put on the extra wooden window (which I thought was a burden earlier. Now I am thankful.) and pulled the curtains.

My heart pounded against my chest. I gathered courage and went back downstairs. There, I double locked the door and closed all windows. I put the wooden protection on each one.

I cautiously went to the kitchen and quickly did the same there. Finally I went back to my room and locked the door. I saw my phone beeping. I looked at it.

I had five missed calls from Adrianna.
