Chapter 2

Jacob's Pov

I watched Renesmee hesitantly as the plan formed in my head. it shouldn't have been so difficult, I was just afraid of her reaction. And of Edward's.

I wasn't usually like this. Usually, I would make do with what I had in front of me instead of trying to change fate. I had learned from trying to change it many years ago, when I lost Bella to the bloodsucker.

I had to do it. She had known me for seven years, but it was never romantic. It had only been a brother and sister relationship. I knew Edward had been expecting more,though.

There was only one thing holding me back from falling for Renesmee. Or anyone else for that matter, at least. I would have fallen for her or maybe someone else otherwise.

But there was still that one little detail, that one little fact and reason why I could not be with anyone else.

I was still in love with Bella.

Of course I wasn't really happy about her being a vampire, but either way she was still Bella, and I truly loved her.

I sighed, and collected myself, preparing to speak to Renesmee about this.

"Ness?" I said with nervousness in my voice. I was afraid for my life and for Nessie's reaction...

"Yeah, Jake? Are you alright?" She said to me, sitting by me on the plain white sofa.

"I need to talk to you. And it's very important... I don't want you to be angry at me for this."

"I could never be angry at you, Jake. You should know that." She replied, holding my hand.

"I don't know how to put this, but... I don't love you Ness. I am in love with someone else." I mumbled.

She cleared her throat, and smiled. She did not release my hand. "Jake, I love someone else too.... Um... do you know who... Um I'll tell you later." She whispered as Alice skipped through the door.

Alice fell to her knees suddenly, screaming loudly at something. I flinched, falling off of the sofa and pulling Nessie down with me.

"Alice! What did you see, Alice?" Renesmee said, shaking Alice's shoulders.

"It's over now. It's all over. This wasn't supposed go happen! What are they thinking? What is he thinking?" Alice snarled, and she pulled at her short hair furiously.

"What's happening?" Renesmee and I said together. We glanced at each other briefly before looking at Alice again.

"Edward is leaving Bella for a mutt! The pathetic dog stole Edward away from Bella!" She grimaced. "Oh... sorry Jake. I didn't mean to say it in such an offering way."

"He's leaving Bella for who?" I questioned her with curious eyes. There was one person I had in mind that might have done this.

"It's Naomi Clearwater, Jacob. Edward is leaving Bella for Naomi Clearwater." Alice replied sharply.

"Dammit! Naomi does this to everyone! She did this to Quil and Claire's son and his girlfriend too!" I yelled.

"Wait what are you talking about, Jacob? What do you mean by she does this to everyone? What do you know?" Alice was speaking in a harsh whisper.

"Naomi had a problem. " I started, pausing briefly before I decided to continue.

"She has only shifted once, though it was months ago, which might happen again, considering she is part of the Clearwater heritage, which made a female wolf, Leah, and she is trying to take whoever she wants to prove she's better than everyone else."

"Wait... so Naomi doesn't even love Edward? Who does she think she is?" Alice screeched.

"Um... Well maybe you should ask her yourself..." I said, watching as a figure carried her inside, through the doorway, kissing her so passionately, you would think that they were a couple.
