Emily's Pov
I sighed as I watched my daughter play in the flower garden I had been trying to produce over the last couple of years.
She was so beautiful, with Sam's dark hair and eyes, and my thick eyelashes that made her look like the princess she wanted to be and deserved to be.
I just wished that Sam would at least attempt to be in his daughters life. I would have understood if he was a part of the pack, but he isn't, so he should be here.
Why did he waste all his time at that stupid bar? I mean, honestly, what was so appealing about getting drunk and forgetting that you had a daughter to take care of?
It seemed that all he cared about was getting drunk. He never said anything to his beautiful baby girl. I understood that after we had lost the first child that it would be bad.
But I had never thought that he would ignore Michelle. She didn't deserve for him to treat her so badly. He basically ignored her.
She was oblivious of this situation, though. She rarely ever saw him, I wouldn't be surprised if she had forgotten that he existed at all.
He was like this because we had lost Caleb.
I must now explain the story of our first child, and how such an innocent baby was lost forever.
Caleb was born prematurely, but luckily made it through the first six months of his life. I expected that he would be fine, having werewolf heritage in his blood.
The premature birth took a sharp turn, forcing him to change too early, and he died from the early transformation. His body couldn't handle the change.
Sam cried himself to sleep the first couple of years after losing his baby son. He cried out in agony, insisting and screaming about how it was his fault for being what he was.
He blamed himself still, and that is one reason that he drinks as much as he does.
Why must this stuff happen to us? If none of this would have happen, we would all be a family. And Michelle could possibly have gotten to know her older brother.
But their is no way for her to ever know him.
"Emily, my dear." Sam opened the door to his trick, practically falling out of the cab. "Let's get inside." He slurred.
"Not right now, Sam. Your daughter is playing in the flowers. I must watch her. Why are you drunk?"
"What does it matter if I am drunk? And screw our daughter, I want you right here, right now." He yelled at me.
He stumbled forward, grabbing me and holding me much too tightly against his body.
"No, I am not going to do this. You always come home, drunk as hell and begging for sex. Why can't you learn some responsibility?" I screamed at him, pushing him away.
"You bitch! You will not treat me this way. I deserve everything I want and you will give me what I deserve!"
"I don't want to be with you anymore, Sam. You are a helpless drunk who can't do anything for yourself and you deserve to be left alone for the rest of your life!" I screeched.
He glared at me and I didn't have time to say anything else, because his fist connected with my jaw.
