"Will Taeoh be okay?" You wonder as you hold an iPad for Taeoh so he can watch his children shows. You're waiting to board the plane and you're worried for Taeoh. You've heard wailing babies in planes and you're not sure if it will happen to him too.
"He'll be fine," Jongin murmurs distractedly as he reads a document. The fingers of his hand that is slung over the back of your seat plays with your hair.
You sigh. At least the flight time is only an hour. You doubt Taeoh would even have it in him to cry for an entire hour. In a few minutes, the boarding commences and Jongin files his papers before taking the iPad from your hands. Taeoh looks like he's been waken from a daydream, not yet adjusting to real life from watching a cartoon. You carry him and stand. Jongin has carried the baby bag as well as your handbag. He wraps an arm around your waist and guides you towards the plane.
Once the three of you have seated in business class (Jongin insisted) with Taeoh sitting next to you, you take out the baby's iPad again. You let him watch his show as he holds it for himself. You comb his hair absentmindedly as you glance at Jongin. He is sitting at the other aisle and though he's still technically next to you, there is a walkway separating the both of you. He must have sensed you looking at him because he looks up from reading his document.
"Come here," he beckons, dropping his papers in the seat.
You make sure Taeoh is secured in his seat before going over to Jongin. He pulls you down to sit on his lap. He circles his arms around your waist and kisses your jawline, humming in content. Taeoh seems to be aware of your absence even though you've not been gone for too long. He looks up and searches for you, so you wave your hands at the boy.
"Hey baby, I'm here!" You tell him, grinning when you see Taeoh's eyes turn into beautiful happy crescents upon seeing you.
The child continues watching his show and Jongin sighs. You turn to him, only to receive a kiss on your lips. "Taeoh loves you," he murmurs.
"The feeling is mutual," you smile in adoration, staring at this child that you have grown to love so much.
"Ma'am, as we are taking off soon, can I ask for you to return to your seat?" A stewardess politely asks you.
You nod hurriedly, embarrassed. "Yes, I'm sorry."
She shakes her head, smiling as she leaves you. Jongin rubs his hand on the inside of your thigh before slapping your ass gently. "Put Taeoh to sleep and then come back."
You laugh, standing to go back to your seat. When the plane starts moving, Taeoh looks up at you. You tell him that the plane is moving and he is so amazed by the fact that he stops paying attention to his show. You expected him to cry when the airplane lifts off, but he doesn't. He just makes a sound of being surprised, his eyes widening at you. You laugh, ruffling his hair with pride. He eventually loses interest when the plane has stabilised in the air and he goes back to watching the video. Since it is about Taeoh's nap time, halfway through the flight, he gets sleepy and starts whining. You carry him over to you and he immediately snuggles into your chest.
You had actually thought that Jongin was reading his document, since that was what he had been doing since you returned to your designated seat. But while you're stroking and humming Taeoh to sleep, Jongin leaves his seat and takes up his son's spot next to you. You glance at him but he is still doing his reading, not minding you. The moment Taeoh falls asleep, you stop stroking him and that's how Jongin knows that you've successfully brought his son to dreamland.
"Busy, huh?" You tease Jongin, leaning back in your seat and looking at his document. He has been on this page since he sat here.
"Only because you're not paying me any attention," he answers, keeping his redundant papers. He sits back as well. "Let's stay in the hotel for a bit when we get there. And then we'll go out for dinner."
