I'm sorry I can't make it to your grad ceremony, baby girl.. There was a sudden issu with suppliers... I'll see you at home, okay?
Jongin || 12:48PM

You sigh. You know it is difficult running a company. Especially now that business is getting better. Well, graduation isn't that important, right? Besides, your family would be there. It's fine if Jongin won't be watching you gradute. It's fine.

But it's not. You have been restless and irritated the entire day. Because Jongin isn't at your graduation when the both of you had been waiting for this moment for so long. Your family know the reason why you're so quiet and so pissy. So they don't push it even when you're silent during the celebratory dinner. They drop you off at your flat even though they had insisted to drive you to Jongin's place. They know you're mad at him though, so they don't argue anymore.

Jongin has not texted or called either, which only piques your annoyance. You enter the code to your apartment, only to be locked out. Okay, maybe you're muddled by your anger. You blink and focus as you key in the code correctly this time, but it turns out to be invalid. This is ridiculous. How can you be locked out of your own home? Especially if you haven't been back in so long?

Maybe it's the landlord. You fumble for your phone in your bag. You get it out hurriedly, your legs hurting from wearing heels. The moment you have your phone in your hand, the screen lights up. You're slightly amused at the impeccable timing, but when you realise that it is Jongin, your scowl comes back. You swipe it open.

You frown at the mesage. What? After he tells you he can't attend your graduation that he knows meant a lot to you, he sends you the code to his phone? You roll your eyes, glancing at the door of your apartment. Then your eyes drop to the keypad at the doorknob, reminding you that you're locked out with an invalid passcode. Suddenly something clicks in place.

You step forward and lift a finger to the keypad. You enter Jongin's birthday, a familiar green light appears and you hear the sound of your door unlocking. You scoff. Jongin actually had the cheek to change the code to his birthday? This normally would have been cute and endearing to you, but today, you're too angry at him to feel all that towards him.

You enter your apartment and turn on the lights, only to be shocked out of your wits by the amount of floating balloons pressed to the ceiling. The floor is covered with flower petals too. You look up with your heart beating in your chest. The little organ stops for a second when you see Jongin before you, looking immaculate and hot in a wine red suit. What is the special occasion?

"Congratulations, baby," he grins at your amazed expression.

"All this for missing my graduation?" you raise an eyebrow, placing your bag on top of the shoe cabinet and taking off your coat.

"Yeah..." You scoff and roll your eyes. But he holds up a hand when you open your mouth to say something. "Wait, I'm not done."

You cross your arms in front of your chest, looking at him expressionlessly as he walks closer to you. You can smell his cologne and the shampoo he uses. It calms you a little. And the way he fits so well in the wine red suit is making your heart pound. His shoulders are so broad and his legs are so long. Just as you think about that, he drops to his knees. Or more specifically, a knee.

Jongin is chuckling at your wide-eyed expression. He stands out like a rose amidst all the white and pink petals on the ground. Your heart is pounding against your ribcage, asking to be let out so it can witness this beautiful image of Jongin proposing to you. All the love and affection you have for this man come rushing back to you while the annoyance and injustice you felt during the day fly out of your being.
