Jesse woke to the sounds of the forest, birds chirping, animals playing, and night nudging him off the bed. Jesse shoved night away and lazily stood up, stretching his limbs. He trudged over to The chest by his bed, grabbing a cobble sword, bow and arrows, and a few torches. He then made his way to another chest, grabbing out some fresh clothes, he went over to his bathroom. After a few minutes jesse came out of the bathroom like a new boy, he wore a white shirt with red overalls, blue jeans and black sneakers. Night perked up as he saw Jesse begin to put on a black hooded cape, iron shoulder plates, leather gloves and flight goggles.
Night stood as jesse went over to the trapdoors leading to the ladder down 'are we flying today?' night asked jesse, cocking his head to the side. Jesse smiled and nodded beginning his way down the ladder. Night bounded over to the platform joyfully opening his wings to their full extent and circling around the hidden clearing.
Jesse jumped down the ladder and ran out to meet up with the wolves. The youngest wolf, jack, leaped over to Jesse 'jesse is back! Jesse is back!' he howled out to the others. Jesse bent down and hugged jack, who gave him a slobbery kiss and jumped up on him. Jesse was pushed down as the other little wolves scampered over him, licking him relentlessly. The mother wolf came over 'alright young ones, time to play in the pond' she said to them in her soft voice. The pups whined but ran off to the pond, leaving a slobbery jesse with the mother wolf. Jesse sat up as he spit out slob and tried to get it off his clothes 'i haven't seen you wear that in a while' the mother wolf said to jesse, walking over to him. Jesse Wiped off slobber from his face and stood up 'yeah, I decided since I haven't flown in a while, today would be good.' jesse sighed. 'yes, today looks like a fun day, especially with this great weather' mother wolf said as jesse squinted up at the sky. Jesse nodded 'well, it looks like night is getting jumpy, see ya!' and with that jesse ran off to night who landed. nights wings were held up high as jesse climbed onto the saddle night wore, and they took off into the blue sky. jesse looked down as night climbed higher into the sky, the clearing becoming smaller and smaller. jesse had almost forgotten how exhilarating flying was, the cool wind whipping past you, hair flying around freely, big puffy clouds guiding your journeys way. jesse released his grip on the saddle and spread his arms cheerfully yelling into the wind, night joined in and the two began weaving through the clouds, flipping and dipping, diving and gliding. jesse fell back, letting out a laughing sigh 'night, we should do this way more often.'
As the flight went on night went into a calm glide, slowly descending to the earth, jesse had dozed off some time ago but the sudden change in air pressure brought him back. jesse looked around as they broke through the clouds, a small town was below them belonging to humans, jesse urged night to go a little lower so he could get a better look. As they came in closer night looked back at jesse 'we shouldn't be this low, what if someone sees?' he called back to him. jesse put his hood up and hugged close to nights back, blending in with the dark scales. jesse continued gazing out at the humans, he spotted two familiar faces, the humans that chased him in the forest. they were with another person who jesse did not recognize, but jesse wanted to get in closer, guiding night down to the forest boundary. jesse slid off night, keeping his hood up he ran to the edge bushes looking out for the two humans. night came up next to him, nudging his arm and ducking behind the bush 'what are you doing!?' he quietly shouted at jesse. jesse didn't bother to acknowledge him as he jumped over the bush and ran to hide behind a house. night broke his cover and stared at jesse with wide eyes as he mouthed to jesse 'jesse? what are you doing?' jesse held a finger to his mouth and motioned for him to get down. jesse peared from behind the house, he breathed in and took a step out from his hiding place. jesse began shyly, and cautiously making his way down the stone road keeping to the shadows. he took a dare and looked back to where he last saw night, night poked his head out from the bush and searched for jesse with watering eyes. jesse sniffled a bit, but continued walking, he looked up as a strange sound blured through the winds, it was a strange bird with white feathers. A familiar contrast with The bright blue sky, it squacked it's unusual call and flew down to a very large lake. Jesse unknowingly began following it, curiosity taking controll, he weaved through the small crowds and followed the strange white bird. He began running as it slowed to a stop by the waters edge and landed, pecking at the ground. Jesse hid behind The wall of a small house, staring out to the bird. Jesse was about to go out and try to talk to it, but stopped as he remembered why he was here. The two humans that chased him in the forest.
He turned around peeking out from under his dark hood, Jesse scanned the crowds. He finally spotted them, the large boy in green and the small brown girl. They were talking to two other humans, one in blue, the other in a grey jacket. Jesse edged closer to them, staying to the shadows and hidding behind houses. He took a breath and began to approach them, the boy in green noticed "hay, what do you want?!" he yelled out to jesse, who stopped in his tracks. Jesse didn't know what to say, yes he could talk to animals in norse, but that was through thoughts. He had almost forgotten how to actually talk. Jesse opened his mouth to say something but all that came out was a soft "n-n-no." The dark girls eyes widened as she realized who it was they were talking to "hay, your that kid!" she said excitedly. She turned to her friends "this is the boy I was talking about!" she nearly squealed, but remained calm. The girl in blue stood up from her spot "you mean... That's the boy, t- that... Lifted that giant boulder with the flick of his wrist!?" she nearly fainted but only shook her head. The boy stood this time as Jesse shifted uneasily at their suprized gaze "guys, maybe we should head inside... Don't want to attract unwanted attention." he quietly told the group, and motioned for jesse to follow them. Jesse cautiously followed them into a small house, jumping at every small noise. As they all sat down jesse stood off to the side, uncomfortable in a room full of human strangers.
