We were left alone.
I couldn't believe it. We were alone together. He was seated beside me on a high stand chair with a bottle in his hand. He had that lazy aura in him which i believe I also had.
I pursed my lips as I brought the bottle near my mouth. The beer entered in my system and I closed my eyes as I felt the familiar heat inside my stomach, yearning for it to be felt. I looked back at the person beside me and he was looking at me intently with those round captivating eyes. They were so mystical and deep that I wanted to stare at them for a long time. I wanted to be trapped into them and I couldn't help but feel astonished with those eyes as I looked away. I then glanced back only to see him still looking at me.
Damn. He's looking at me, waiting for my start of the conversation. I quickly rambled inside my head for something that I could say.
"So this is awkward." I only managed to say as I, again, got lost in those round deep eyes. He chuckled and I almost nearly died on my seat.
"So, why do you want to get drunk tonight?" I asked.
He winced after that gulp he took. He then glanced back at me, making it impossible for me to breathe. "Did I ever say that?" He asked.
"Yeah. I heard you talking to Lorenz. You seem like you're carrying the biggest problem in the world." I joked and he only smirked.
"Oh, did I?"
There was a moment of silence as I waited for him to speak. I saw at the peak of my eye as we both drank our bottles at the same time.
"She's back." He sighed,
I looked at him as he was fiddling with his bottle of beer. That was all he said. One sentence with so much meaning and power.
"A vague answer. But then, I'd go with it" I said. "Is she someone who you used to know?" I asked.
He shook his head.
"Is she an old friend?" I asked, again.
He, again, shook his head.
"Is she an ex girlfriend?" I finally asked.
He couldn't speak. I guess I got the right answer.
"How about you? Why do you want to get drunk?" He asked. It was my turn to chuckle and look away.
"Did I say that?" I asked and he chuckled back.
"Hey," he said in a very sweet tone as he held me by my arm. I was taken aback as that got my attention. I looked at him and he still had those round hypnotizing eyes staring right back at me. I noticed how his face was starting to turn red. He was beginning to get drunk. I waited for him to then speak not minding his hand that was holding me by my arm.
"Speak." He said.
I took a deep breath and he easily let go. I drank one fourth of my beer as I felt him watching every move I made.
"I saw him again."
I couldn't help but give him back a vague answer. He nodded slowly, making me relieved that he understood me. He knew the feeling. It's as if we share the same sentiment.
"Is he an ex boyfriend?" He asked.
I shook my head.
"An old friend?" He asked, again.
I, again, shook my head.
"Is he someone you used to know?" He finally asked.
Again, I shook my head. He was none of those three. Maybe a combination but never one of the three.
"I give up. What is he then?" He asked. I noticed how engrossed he was with our topic. I couldn't help but feel relaxed at how normal this conversation felt with him.
"I'd like to think that he's not an ex boyfriend because he never was. He isn't an old friend because we never were. And I guess he's not just someone I used to know. I didn't just know him. I knew everything about him" I said.
I pursed my lips as I drank the bottle straight once again. His gaze was still with me, waiting for me to react.
He took a deep sigh and drank an ounce of his beer. He then winced and leaned back on his chair.
"Some lucky ass, I guess"
