Fear of the Dark

Chapter 9

It's been  about a year after Pitch got banished to his lair.  It's been weird being alone again, working. But I haven't really been alone. Jack has been keeping an eye on me this whole time. I meet Sandy every night just to catch up and Bunny allows me to come visit him in the Warren when ever I want. So does North and Tooth with their places. I usually go to one of those places during the night to keep safe because we all know that even though Pitch was banished he can still reclaim his power and start hiding under beds again. I try and talk to the moon whenever I can just to see if there is something he want to tell me. I've learned a lot about Pitch from him. I already knew that Pitch was around before the moon and I know about most of his past but he never told me his previous occupation or his real name. I still can't pronounce it right tho. Kozmotis Pitchiner is his real name and his previous occupation was Lord High General of the Galaxies. He was once a hero of the Golden Age, he had led the Golden Armies in capturing the Fearlings and their ilk, then volunteered to guard the prison planet they had been imprisoned in. I knew about his daughter but he spoke little of her. All this information is overwhelming because I can't really ask him about any of this.

It's almost Christmas and I decide it would be a good idea to check on Jamie with Jack. We haven't seen Jamie in a while. Jack flies us over to Burgess and we go for a stroll before we go to Jamie's house. We walk past the statue of the founder of this place and think back to the time we first saw each other. It was a confusing day. After a good talk we decide it's time to go looking for Jamie. Jack then flies us over to his house and we knock on his window. Someone opens it eminently. It was Jamie letting us in. He gave us both a big hug and told us he had missed us. 

" Anything to report?" Jack then asks Jamie. We asked Jamie to tell us if he and his friends started to get nightmares. 

" Well Sophie had one last night. It was a very bad one." Jamie then says. Jack then looks at me with worry. 

" How bad?" I ask with worry.

" She woke me up. She was screaming at the top of her lungs in her sleep, like someone was trying to kill her." Jamie the says. As he finishes the door opens and Sophie walks in. She sees us and runs up to us just to hug us.

 " Hi Sophie." I say as she hugs us. I get curious so I decide to ask her about the nightmare.

" Sophie, can you tell me about what happened in your dream last night?" I ask her. She looks at me with pure terror. I know that look. It haunts me to this day. I saw it all the time during the Dark Ages.

" I was.. in the trees.. it was dark.. a man was coming. I start running . Then I see a hole. I fall. Done." Sophie says. She seemed very scared of this dream but because she is only 3 this is a very good way of explaining it. I look at Jack. We understand what this means. Pitch is almost ready again. I thought it would take about a hundred years or so for him to reclaim his powers but he's already scaring 3 year old's half to death. We talk a bit more to Sophie and Jamie but we need to call the Guardians together about this. They need to know.

After the chat its about dinner time so we hurry out to get to the North Pole. As we get there we look for North. My hair changing into the Christmas red but because the North Pole was more festive now my hair had green highlights. We find North by the globe.

" North, Summon the Guardians!" I yell as I see him.

" What.. (y/n)? Why?" North asks surprised to see us. We run over to him as fast as we can.

" We have news about Pitch." Jack says and North looked at us trying to tell if this is a prank or not. After a few seconds he turns the northern lights on too summon them. 

They come over very quickly. Jack being the Guardian , not me, talked about what we learned from Jamie. Bunny looking my way during the entire speech.
