Fear of the Dark

Chapter 10

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what happened in the forest. Jack kissed me, Pitch saw it and got angry, they fought, I told them to stop, they pressured me into deciding on which side I'm on, Jack says something that hurt me a little, Pitch whispered something to him and he got angry, then we go.

This makes no sense to me. I feel like I'm missing out on a big detail. 

We get to the Pole before the morning sun comes up. Jack looked to be very upset the entire flight to the Pole. I just wanted to get there.

As we land Bunny is the first to greet us.

" (y/n)! What happened?" Bunny asked. I just look at the ground.

" I don't want to talk about it." I just say and walk away. I look back to see Bunny talking to Jack. 

I walk into Sandy who is also eager to know what happened.

" Just leave me alone." I say as a tear runs down my cheek. I hate being pressured into deciding something. I run into the room that is mine when I sleep here. I close the door and when I turn around Sandy is looking at me with his arms crossed as if telling me " You are going to tell me and I'm not going to take no for an answer".

" Fine, I'll tell you." I say in defeat. 

"We met Pitch." I say, Sandy's look changes. 

" But when we met me and Jack.. sorta... Kissed." I say stuttering. Sandy makes this " Oh Shit" look. I look at him just to see if he wants to say something.

He makes a question mark appear above his head.

" He kissed me, I told him to focus on me so he wouldn't fall pray to the Fearlings. " I say and Sandy just laughs.

" Anyway, Pitch saw and got angry, they kinda fought about.. I don't know. Then they pressured me into deciding if I wanted to go with Jack or stay with Pitch." I say and Sandy comes over and pats me on the back.

" Then they started talking about me. Jack told Pitch that he didn't understand how he's able to make me actually consider staying. Then Pitch mentioned last year at the frozen lake when he was banished. When you were asking me those questions. Jack didn't really understand so Pitch whispered something in his ear and I couldn't hear it but it made Jack very angry." I tell Sandy and he looks at me with this look like he might have an idea of what Pitch said. 

" What?" I ask and Sandy makes a heart and then a question mark.

" Love? You think Pitch knows about my crush on him?" I ask Sandy and he gives me a shy smile.

" Oh my, I hope not." I say with a shy smile as well.

The Tooth comes flying in.

" (y/n)! There you are, We have been looking for you. Jack seemed to be really angry. What happened out there?" She asks and I stand up and look at Sandy. He gives me a weak smile and then goes out of the room. I follow him to the globe and I am greeted by North and Bunny but I notice Jack standing in the background, balancing himself on his staff.

" Tell us what happened. The whole thing." North says. Bunny notices my shyness and walks closer to me.

" Did you really meet Pitch?" Bunny asks in a very low, comforting voice. I nod my head and I notice Bunny looking at North with worry.

" He said he was just doing his job. Giving children nightmares." I then say. Bunny chuckles.

" Pitch can't just be doing his job. There is always a plot in his head." Bunny then says. It kinda gets to me.
