Fear of the Dark

Chapter 11

Being kissed like this. By Pitch. It's so amazing. Yet so weird. I can't even get used to him hugging me because physical contact is not his thing. He'll give you a small smile or if you're very close with him, like me, you could maybe land a hand shake. That's it. This weird aggression in the kiss makes it even weirder. He's usually very gentle towards me. He has never done anything to harm me except mentally. That doesn't write him off as a good person but he has never laid a finger on me, if anything happens that harms me its usually because he did something to someone else and it bounced off onto me and that makes me have to react.

He breaks the kiss and looks at me once again. I look into his eyes and I remember my goal. I need to know if he has some sort of plan.

" Hey Pitch?" I then ask to break this mood.

" What is it?" He looks confused. 

" How did you regain your power so quickly?" I ask. He looks at me with this small smile like he didn't expect me to ask him that.

" Well.. You see. The Nightmares took me into my lair and they were always there somewhere. Lurking. I went on to collect them. Once I had collected them all the Fearlings gave me a fragment of my power back. It's not much. All I can do is give one kid a nightmare a night." He says. I think to myself about this for a little.

" So you still don't have enough power?" I ask then after a moment of silence.

" No. Why do you ask?" He then asks. I feel the need to tell him the truth.

" You see. There were two reasons why I came back." I then say. He looks at me with this weird look. He's confused.

" The first one was because I wanted to. But the second one was because I was also sent here." I then say and he seems displeased. 

" Bunny sent me to find out what your plan was." I say quietly. His look changes. It goes into anger. But then realization strikes.

" That means someone is here with you right?" He says as he grabs my wrist.

" Sandy dropped me off at the beginning of the forest. I told him to just do his job." I say and Pitch sighs in relief.

" So nobody is close to you except for me right now. That's good." Pitch then says with a seductive smile. 

" Sandy knew about my feeling for you so I would like to think he'll give us time, but I don't know about the rest of them." I then say and Pitch gives me a sad look.

" Let them come. I need to catch up with you." He then says with a smile. I return his smile and he takes my hand and walks me over to a place to sit. We find an old tree that had fallen to the ground a few year ago. We use it as a bench and we sit there just talking about all sorts of shit. 

We have been here for a few hours and I can her rumbling in the trees now. The whispers are also back.

" Someone's here." Pitch then says as he stands up. I stand up as well. I can hear someone call my name. It's Jack.

" So he's back." Pitch then says annoyed.

" I thought he was still in his pissy fit." I then say and Pitch gives out a small laugh.

" Pissy fit?" He asks laughing.

" Yeah when we got back he was very upset. He didn't even want to talk to any of the Guardians." I say and Pitch laughs. Then Jack's voice gets louder.

" I should go to them." I then say and Pitch stops laughing.

" Ok, I understand. Have a safe journey back my dear." Pitch then says and gives me a kiss on the forehead. Then he disappears into the shadows. I smile and start walking towards Jack's voice.
