*Hunter's POV*
We had just played a killer show just outside of Nashville. After we had freshened up, Matt, Devo, Andy, and Steve disappeared to go have some fun at the fair.
Sam and I finally decided to walk around and see what was going on at the fair. We walked along a gravel path and saw a couple trying to hide themselves behind a barn. Let's just say they were as close as they could possibly get, and both of them were like jumping on each other. Sam and I shuddered away until a scream pierced the air.
Sam and I turned around as another girl ran up to the couple and ripped them off of each other. She started screaming at the boy as tears streamed down her face. Then the boy lashed out and he slapped her face with such force that everyone around the scene got quiet. She kept screaming at him and he grabbed her and threw her down on the ground. I couldn't control myself, watching that poor beautiful girl fall to the dirt in tears. I ran right for the guy and punched him so hard I'm sure his nose broke.
He fell to the ground with blood pouring out of his nose. The girl he hit was helped up by a few people who were at the scene. A ton of security guards were running down the path towards us. Sam started yanking me as the people around dispersed quickly, and I lost the girl in the crowd.
She appeared for a few brief seconds and our eyes locked until she was ripped away by the crowd and Sam pulled me back to the bus.
That's when I first saw this girl. I remembered every bit of it when she looked at me with the same painful happiness last night. I knew that's when she was hurt, when she had to go through exactly what I was going through now. If only I had a little more time I could've helped her more, I could've told her everything was going to be ok. But Sam had to take me away from her.
Sam didn't remember her at all. Why would he? He didn't pay attention to anything but me when that happened. Of course, he was 'protecting me' and didn't care that a beautiful girl just got slapped by her boyfriend who was cheating on her!
I shook the anger out of my mind and dropped my phone on the bed. I could hear Ally strumming on her guitar and singing, so I joined her on the couch. She was in the middle of Good In Goodbye by Carrie.
"As bad as it was, as bad as it hurt, I thank God I didn't get, what I thought that I deserve. Sometimes life leads you down a different road, when you're holding on to someone, that you gotta let go. Someday you'll see the reason, sometimes, yeah sometimes, there's Good In Goodbye."
She hung her head down, threatening to spill. I lightly took her guitar out of her lap and put it by me. I moved next to Ally and wrapped her in my arms. She sobbed silently and gripped me tight.
"You don't always have to be strong." I whispered into her hair.
"But, I have to. For everyone I love. I'm not a wimp. I don't want them to see this, that's not who I am. I'm not a wimp." She cried.
I nodded. "Ok."
She took in a deep breath and broke away from me. "I'm sorry you had to see that."
"You kidding? You've watched me sob the past two days to you, I'm pretty sure you've got a long way to go if you want to be sorry." She laughed. "There she is!"
She smiled and shook her head while laughing. Then her face went blank. "Hunter, where are you living now?"
Oh yeah. "I don't know. Sam is going eventually coax me into moving in with him and Steve."
"Is that what you want?"
"Well no, but what other choice do I have?" Her eyes darted around the room, almost like she was suggesting...something. "Ally, look I'm flattered. But you've done enough!" I exclaimed quickly.
