Love and War

"Daniya's is living with us again." Nicole said.

Keshawn looked at Daniya then at everyone else for a second. He swallowed the lump in his throat then headed upstairs to his room.

They all sat there awkwardly. Then Nicole sat down at the table. "Let's eat." Nicole said with a smile.

"So were going to ignore that she left us then let her come back like everything's okay?" Lauren asked.

"Lauren at least give your sister a second chance." Nicole replied.

"No you may want to pretend you like her but I don't have to and I'm not going to." Lauren said before storming to her room.

"She hates me." Daniya said.

"No just give her sometime." Nicole responded.

Daniya nodded trying to hold in her tears. She burst into tears. Kaya and Nicole sat there awkwardly.

"Come here." Nicole said. She rushed over to Daniya and held her as Daniya cried.

"No matter what you do , I will be there for you Niya." Nicole said.

Keshawn was peeking around the corner trying not to be noticed. He felt like he wanted to just grab her up and hug her but once again his pride and anger didn't let him.

Knock Knock

"Come in." Lauren said.

Daniya opened the door slowly.

"Great Daniya get out." Lauren said turning her back on her.

"I don't need to pretend like I didn't just leave and ignore your calls because there's no point." Daniya responded beginning to sob.

"But I do owe you an apology, we already lost mom and we don't even know our dad so all you had was me and I left." I'm so sorry Lauren and I mean it. I never meant to hurt you or anybody ..leaving the ones that loved me I ended up hurting myself.

Lauren was in tears. "Please Daniya leave me alone." Lauren yelled.

"Lauren please your my only real family left I can't lose you." Daniya cried.

Lauren remained silent. "When you were sad and depressed about them taking your baby away I was there." Now I've been getting beat up everyday since I ran away and on top of that I'm pregnant." Daniya burst out. She covered her mouth afterwards.

"I didn't mean-".Daniya was cut off.

"Your pregnant?" Lauren asked sitting up to face Daniya.

Daniya looked to the ground then at Lauren. "Yeah I guess so." Daniya responded. Lauren grew silent.

She stood to her feet and glared at Daniya. Keshawn was standing outside of the door listening but he had heard enough he walked away. "I can't believe she got knocked up by that nigga." He thought.

"Who's is it?" Lauren asked.

"Its um Keshawn's but he doesn't know." Daniya replied.

Lauren slowly walked up to Daniya and then held her tight. They cried for awhile without saying a word. Later on they ended up talking for hours before falling asleep.

Two Days Later

Jaylen hadn't been to school and it calmed Daniya. She thought that maybe he would finally leave her alone. But maybe she was wrong.

"Girl Im not about to play." Kaya said bursting out into laughter.

Kmoni rolled her eyes as she sat there feeling like the third wheel.

"For real though." Daniya responded shaking her head with a smile on her face. She reached for a fry and but suddenly dropped it. She had to throw up and she felt it coming.

She rushed to the nearest trash can. Everyone watched in disgust and some laughed.

"You alright Niya?" Kmoni and Daniya asked in unison. They looked at each other then rolled there eyes.

"Yeah I guess." Daniya said. "So morning sickness at school huh?" Jaylen said causing Daniya to flinch. She didn't even want to turn around.

"You know I told you if you left I'd kill you and that baby and you just don't learn." Jaylen said.

Daniya began to shake nervously.
"So what you just think you can leave and probably fucking around with Keshawn." Jaylen said loudly.

Daniya finally turned to face him. "Jaylen that's nun of your business what I'm doing and who I'm doing." Daniya said.

"Oh so its like that.. I thought you loved me?" Jaylen asked sarcastically with a evil grin.

"Fuck naah nigga so take yo ass from where ever you came from." Kaya blurted out.
Jaylen ignored her.

"Nigga fuck you okay just stay away from me." Daniya said turning to walk back to her table.

"You gon get what's coming to you Daniya and that's a promise." He said.

Daniya sat down and gave him the finger. He laughed a unfriendly laugh then looked at Kmoni. "Aye bitch you thought I forgot cuz I told you it was like that when I saw you." Jaylen said.

"Nigga fuck is you suppose to be scaring and I already killed it, its to late okay." Kmoni said not looking him in the eye.

Jaylen eyes grew watery. "Bitch you killed my child without me knowing?" Jaylen yelled. He rushed over to her and grabbed her by the neck and began to choke the life out of her. Daniya and Kaya tried to get him off since no one else would but they couldn't.

Eventually security guards came and got him off. "You gay bitch, I know about you don't forget that, y'all both gon die!" He yelled as he was escorted out of the lunch room.

"What's going on?" Kaya asked.

Everyone was whispering and staring at them.

"We can't talk here." Daniya said before rushing towards the exit. Kmoni and Daniya followed after her.
