Uneasy

It could be like this or that .Family decides

"Y'all I'm mad they kept this away from ya to but Daniya you can't really stop loving them the way they love you." Nicole said standing in the doorway of her room.

"I can try." Daniya said with a harsh tone.

"Daniya you gotta look at it from there perspectives you would've done the same thing if they were going through this much." Nicole said.

"That's just it though it wasnt them there life is perfect it was us going through it and I don't know what I would've done but I wouldn't have waited this long to tell somebody something important like that." Daniya said raising her voice.

"Perfect ? You think our life is perfect!?" Nicole yelled.

"Daniya you know nothing about us if you think that." Nicole said shaking her head.

"Daniya that's not fair Nicole done nothing but help us." Lauren said. Daniya flopped down on the bed. "Yeah I know, I'm constantly reminded of it everyday." Daniya mumbled.

"John was my husband and he seemed like Mr.Right at first " Nicole started.

"You don't owe us a story about that bastard." Daniya said.

"Just listen Niya." Nicole said sternly. Daniya grew quiet.

"We settled down had some kids and I guess after having kids he grew stressed and tired." Nicole said looking at them.

"He grew angry also and started drinking and after that he started hitting me and the kids." He would hit Keshawn when he got a little older. He   even would hit Kaya. It went on for yours and he beat me up so bad one time I thought I was gonna die but god saved me. Stupid me I still stayed after that. So when Kaya got a little older he tried to rape her. I caught him and I fought him ..something I had never done before.

"Did you leave?" Lauren blurted out.

Nicole looked at Lauren then looked down and began to nod her head.

"Yeah but it was hard leaving someone I fell in love with but my kids mattered more, besides he wasn't the man I fell in love with anymore." Nicole said. There was a look in her eyes that looked as if she had seen every memory she had just spoke of flash before eyes for the first time in years.

"You know I always wondered about his past and how my mother never saw something wasn't right." Daniya said finally speaking.

"He would look at me and Lauren in the most disgusting ways when we first met him." Or even wink when my mother wasn't looking. I told her but she thought it was his way joking with us. She use to be so nice and sweet and dressed nice you know." Daniya said.

"Until he came then things slowly changed and we noticed it. Momma wouldn't greet us good morning after awhile. Then the morning breakfast stopped. She wouldn't even come out of her room some days but then we saw what is was that was causing these weird changes." Lauren said with a tear rolling down her cheek.

"Heroine was what was doing this." Heroine and John is what caused my our house to fall apart. And now my momma is dead so I don't know if I could forgive somebody who look me in my face everyday and never thought to tell me it was their father." Daniya said.

Nicole stood speechless. "I'm sorry you had to go through that but like I said before were far from perfect and just because you know pain don't mean you bring it on others." Nicole said before walking off.

"How could you get thus mad Daniya, I mean you haven't told Keshawn your carrying his baby."  Lauren whispered.

"Iain trynna hear all that Lauren." Daniya replied.
