Chapter 10 : The past

"Wow! For once you've actually said something sensible!" I looked at Weiss who was clapping her hands together.

She put a hand around my shoulder.

"I agree with you !" she grinned at me. I stared back at her wondering whether she was joking or being sarcastic.

Weiss then looked at the others.

"Newbie here has a point you know. For how long do we tolerate this? We may loose the battle but we can say that we atleast tried. For how long do we let ranks decide who we are? Each one of us is unique with different powers" I looked surprised at weiss's determined eyes. morely i was suprised because she agreed so fast

"Now who's with us?" Weiss asked . She was not expecting much I could see form her face.

The other vampires stood silently for a while then slowly one raised his hand. It was the red haired boy who spoke up before. His emerald green eyes shone at that moment.

"and your name is?" I asked.

"Jason. I will support you in this crazy idea of yours. Like Weiss said its better to try than just give up" he said as he tucked his arm into his jeans pocket.

"im in too! I need to make sure this idiot dosnt do anything stupid" another boy with bright blonde hair and same emerald eyes as Jason. "hes my brother.Chase!" Jason grinned as he wrung an arm around his brothers shoulder .

Weiss looked at the others waiting for another answer. After a while she sighed. " fine its just us I guess!" she stared heavily at the others frowning. " spend the rest of your lives as looser and wimps who don't know anything else but follow around orders." She said sticking her tongue out as she dragged me outside the infirmary door shutting it with a loud bam!

"Woah Weiss that was harsh..." I said as she let go of my arm to turn towards me. " listen newbie! Just because I took your side dosen't mean ill be nice to you. Your still a half breed in our eyes. Im just going in this with you because you are right. I cant stand my fellow friends getting hurt again.." she looked away .

" what do you mean again? Has this happened before too?" I asked

She winced almost as if I had slapped her then turned around and disappeared.

"Eleonora.." I looked back to see Jason and chase emerging from the infirmary.

I looked at them in confusion. " whos that?" I asked.

"long story" Jason sighed. "Long before the F rankers were not like this. We were morley rebels rejected from the society and hated by the higher ups due to our magic. They thought we disgraced the name of the vampires. Nora was just like you. She disliked it. She wanted to get us our rights back to live just like normal vampires. She wanted to destroy the rank system.so she declared war on the higher ups. Just like you did" Jason motioned me to walk . chase followed behind us without saying a word.

"Nora was weisses best friend. Weiss begged her to stop the ridiculous idea but nora didn't listen. She was stubborn. She and her group of F rankers sent a war note to the royals. The little war dragged on for a week and soon the royals began to hire the remaning F rankers to stand up against nora and her group and ...." Jason paused.

I stared at him as he stared with regret in his eyes.

"me and Weiss ...were chosen too.. we were forced to battle against Nora's team. The royals knew we were their weakness. Their own rank. Nora got defeated and killed in the most gruesome manner... that we F rankers started fearing the higher ups as they warned us whoever stood up against them would be killed.... After that we have been living in fear... accepting our fate"

I stared back at Jason then at chase who sighed. 

So Weiss supported me because she was regretting the fact she hadn't supported Nora at that time. She saw her best friend in me and reminded her of the moment that's why she hated me so much. Now I understood everything. there was more to this story and i needed to get hold of the past of this place before i made a move.
