I don't know when I fell asleep but I did. I just hoped that all of this would be a dream and that I would wake up from it the next morning.
The next morning, I woke up to the sound of commotion around the room and kazumi shaking me violently form my bed. Sunlight shone through the little windows and lit up the whole room. It was no longer dark and murky like last night.
I got changed and put on my uniform, braided my hair as usual.
I heard kazumis frustrated cry and looked to see her staring at herself in the mirror angrily.
She was trying to get her hair back into place and tie it with a red ribbon. I giggled as she reminded me of Lissa. I felt a surge of pain and sadness as I remembered our old days. I could never go back to her or my home or my old school again.
"Give me that" I said as I turned to kazumi.
"Thanks! I never manage to get my hair right. I seriously regret cutting it short now. I mean what can u do with short hair. You can't tie it you can braid it you can't style it whichever way you want." Kazumi gave off a sigh.
"there's always a way" I said as is started braiding up her fringe. And untied her ribbon and tied it to the side of her head.
"there you look cuter this way" I replied.
"wow Zoe you're so good at this." kazumi exclaimed.
"I used to do this for Lissa . She also has lots of trouble with her hair.." I replied with a faint smile.
Kazumi patted my shoulders.
"it's okay! she will be fine" She said with a warm smile as she led me outside the dorm.
I winced as I saw crowds of students running here and there. I hated crowds and specially not a vampire crowd where they look at us as if we were food.
Strange! These vampires are out in broad day light like normal human beings. How come this is even possible? I clearly remember Richter wearing all black and carrying an umbrella with him when he came to escort me to school. Wasn't all that for that reason?
As I walked forward I saw a group of vampires gathered around in a circle. It was getting very loud and I could tell that there was something going on.
Normally id have ignored situations like that but my feet acted up on its own when I heard a girls shrill scream.
"Zoe? Where are you going?" I heard kazumi ask but I ignored her and went forward pushing my way to the front.
My eyes grew wide at the sight of blood splattered everywhere.
On the middle was a girl with shiny white hair and her face was covered in crimson blood which formed tiny puddles beneath her. I watched as she struggled to get up however a boy stepped out and kicked her. She glanced at me with light lavender eyes with a hopeless look as I burst through the crowds of vampires.
"take that! Maybe next time you would think twice before messing with us" the vampire guy shouted at her.my eyes diverted towards her attacker and caught sight of a boy with ruffled crimson hair which fell all over his pale neckline. His emerald green eyes represented fury. He was about to kick her once again when I jumped in between them on instinct. I couldn't bear it anymore.
"Vampire or not this kind of thing shouldn't be allowed" I said looking at the boy straight in the eye.
For a second everyone froze. I could feel the air getting tenser and tenser each moment. The boy stared at me in disbelief I glanced at his tie and saw the letter R written on it. OK! I already regretted saying that.
