My brother would have to wait however as I had at least one other opponent before I could walk out of the tournament as the champion.
The second of the hooded fighters stepped up into the arena and removed their hood. It was the girl, by looking at the electronic scorecard I realised that we were the last two fighters for the night, meaning that the third mystery fighter had either forfeited  or been eliminated.
"For the last fight of the night we have our returning champion Rogue!" As my name was called I stepped into the centre and allowed the commentator to raise my arm to the cheers of the audience.
"And a new, up and coming fighter, challenging our champion for the title. Ladies and gentleman, please welcome, Phoenix!"

Following the protocol we stood opposite each other and half listened to the referee lay down the rules again, while glaring at each other at the same time.
When it came time to tap gloves I could see the anger burning in her eyes, yet it was more than you would expect just for a fight which confused me. Without taking her eyes off of me she tapped my gloves and stalked back her corner like a tiger who'd just won a fight.

"Ready?" The referee asked rhetorically, "begin."

I started walking into the centre too meet her but she didn't move, remaining in her corner she didn't even turn to face me. I froze, confused. Had she not heard the referee?
All of a sudden she twisted, springing off of her back legs into a horizontal pounce, speeding towards me with such speed I was barely able to comprehend what had just happened. I twisted to the side too slow as her arms wrapped around my legs, bringing me to the ground with a great amount of force.
Her only mistake was getting up off of me instead of pinning me to the ground. As soon as I felt her weight shift to get up I brought my legs up and around to wrap around her waist and twist her sideways onto the ground next to me.
There was a cheer from the audience and they saw us on the ground as if about to wrestle.

My vision suddenly shifted again and Phoenix was no longer on the ground in front of me, a white wolf was now in her place. It had green eyes which looked as though they could see right into my soul. I shuddered visibly and focused once more on the green eyes of my opponent, which seemed to be smirking at me, as if she knew what was going on.

The rest of the fight went a lot faster with both of us taking risks, each hoping to land a blow on the other. I kept my eyes on her as I had with Luke, hoping she would make the same mistake he did.
Meanwhile it seemed as though she was watching me just as critically, reading my motions and intentions. She was like a snake, weaving and slithering around the ring, using hypnotising movements to capture my attention before striking.

As though we were two knights clad in a heavy metal armour we stepped carefully around each other, arms high in defence. And then we clashed, meeting in the middle in a flurry of energy.

With one calculated lunge I propelled myself into the middle of the ring, my guard coming out in front of me and just at the last minute lifting high enough to enable me to strike him. My fist came out from my body, twisting in the air so that it was straight and strong, then connected with her nose causing him to stumble backwards.

The follow through came as she was rapidly trying to maintain her balance by stepping backwards. I lifted my back foot up behind me and out of her view, although the crowd was still able to follow my movements and intentions.

Swinging my leg then up and around, the flat of my foot smashed into the side of my opponents head knocking her flying and then onto the floor.

I retreated back to my corner as by the direction of the referee to my side and he crouched down next to my opponent and began counting to ten. Standing in the corner I waited with bated breath as the count got gradually higher and higher.

Then she stirred, her arm moved and the count stopped as she managed to regain her footing looking slightly worse for wear.

I bit back a chuckle at the blood dripping out of her nose, as she turned to face the crowd trying to build confidence again. Turning to lock eyes with me she then proceeded, picking up her feet and running over to where I was with an arm out already in a punch.

Ducking I avoided her wobbly punch, but as I went to step to the side and out she tripped me up. She made it look casual enough that it wasn't picked up, but I was fuming.

Now defenceless on the floor of the ring I knew I needed to get up before she got the sense together enough to knock me out and finish the fight. Ash got my attention from the side, motivating me and giving me a suggestion of what to do.

Launching myself up from the floor where I had been laying on my back I went full on into a frontal attack, using speed and intimidation to force my opponent to right where I wanted her to be.

As soon as she was far enough back I was able to move enough to get a slight run up and then pushing up off of my front leg I kicked up into the splits in mid air.

At full stretch my left leg just hit his head with enough force to knock her backwards and I knew this time she was not getting back up again.

The referee did the count before turning to the crowd and announcing my victory. "Winner" he shouted and the crowd roared as my arm was lifted up in victory. I was the Champion once more!
