"My auntie invited all of you to join us for Christmas dinner," I announced to the group as I took a piece of the pepperoni pizza in front of me. We decided to do something different for once since we usually just watched movies at my auntie's house. And so we went to a restaurant and ordered a large pizza.
"Really?" Savannah said, examining the pizza. "I'd be happy to come."
"Same!" Vanda exclaimed, with a grin on her face.
I looked over at the boys but they were talking about something else and they weren't paying attention. "What about you guys?" I asked, raising my voice a bit.
"Huh?" they both turned to face me. Their confusedness made me chuckle.
"Christmas dinner?" I took a sip of my drink. "My auntie's house? Wanna come?"
"Yeah! Cool." Jake said.
"Sure," Spencer said flashing a perfect smile. He watched me intensely from across the table and even when I looked away I could still feel him staring, his eyes almost burning into my skin. It was making me so uncomfortable that I accidentally hit my glass and it fell to the ground, smashing into tiny pieces. I felt my cheeks turn red as everyone turned to face me. I swiftly got up from my chair and started picking up the broken glass pieces. Soon, the waitress came over with a broom and told me not to worry about it. I apologised, got back up and sat down beside Vanda.
"Are you okay?" Savannah mouthed to me with a worried expression.
I just nodded a little and smiled a crooked smile. The whole group started talking again except for me and Spencer. He kept glancing over at me but this time, he tried to be less obvious.
"Why were you staring at me?" I asked him through gritted teeth as we left the restaurant. I was careful that no one would hear me.
He smiled and thought about it for a while. "It's just that you're very pretty." He whispered as he looked up, into my eyes. "I like you."
I raised my eyebrows at him as Blake hissed, "I knew it!" in the background.
"You what?" I asked, confused. "Well, I don't like you in that way. I'm sorry. You should stay away from me." I said quickening my pace trying to catch up with the others but he grabbed my arm and caused me to stop.
"What if I don't want to stay away? You should give me a chance. Please," he pleaded. "You're the most amazing girl I've ever met."
"You don't even know me!" I blurted. "Let go of my hand."
"I'm sorry," he said.
As soon as he let go of me I ran over to the rest of the group. "Guys, I don't feel well. I'm going home."
I didn't wait for their response and I just ran off. I heard them calling my name but I didn't look back.
This time, I didn't run all the way home. I went to a street where I knew all the taxis were and I got one to drive me home.
On the way, Savannah, Vanda and Jake kept calling me. Everytime my phone vibrated, I had a small heart attack thinking it was Spencer. Finally, I switched my phone off and shoved it into my handbag.
"Are you okay, Cassie?" Blake said to me, setting his hand on my thigh.
"Yes," I replied with a whisper.
"You know, you should really stay away from that boy," he warned. "He has a violent side to him. I mean... you saw what he did today."
I stared out of the window trying to ignore what Blake was saying. I didn't want to talk about Spencer. I didn't want to talk about him, hear about him, or anything to do with him.
"Cassie, are you listening?"
"Yes, I am Blake!" I blurted out. The driver looked over at me, through the mirror and I quickly got my phone to pretend that I'm in the middle of a phone call. "Can't you see that I'm trying my hardest to stay away from him?" I was careful that I wasn't too loud this time. "But I can't just tell everyone to stop hanging out with him because of me!"
"I know." he sighed. "Just promise me you'll be careful."
I glanced over at him, "I promise." I wanted to kiss him so much but I couldn't because of the taxi driver and so I just flashed him a small, reassuring smile.
"You know that I love you, right?"
"Of course! I love you too, Blake." I put my hand on top of his, as he put his head on my shoulder.

I stood by the window watching the beautiful view. I was wearing a long, red, elegant dress and my hair was made up in beautiful, luscious curls. I turned around and soon came to the realisation that this wasn't my room. But even though I've never seen this place before, somehow I felt like I've been there many times.
"I've got some champagne." Blake's voice broke the silence. I turned my head in order to look at him. He was approaching me with a bottle and two champagne glasses. He was wearing a suit and his hair was nicely made up, looking even more handsome than usually. Before I could say anything he placed the champagne flutes in my hands and started pouring the champagne.
"There's something that I wanted to ask you. I never got the chance to ask this before and I really hope it isn't too late." He glanced away from me. He started to seem quite unsure.
"What is it, Blake?" I asked, still watching him and trying to figure out his expression.
He took the champagne glasses and set them down. There was quiet music on in the background and the only source of light ware the candles around us and the city lights outside. And finally, it hit me. What was he going to ask? My heart started beating in my chest and there were butterflies fluttering about in my stomach. "Blake? I asked again.
"Cassie, you are an amazing girl. And I wish I did this before it all happened." By now my heart was full-on bouncing out of my chest. "I regret not having the chance and enough time do this." I stood there frozen in place as he knelt down in front of me. I let out a gasp and my eyes started filling with tears. "Cassie, I want you to be mine. I don't even know if it's possible, but if it is, I want us to get married in heaven. I'll wait for you for as long as it'll take. Sixty years... seventy .. even a hundred. All I know is that you're the only girl I want." He paused. "And maybe all this is pointless but maybe not and so I want to try. So Cassie Rose Valentine. Will you do me the honour of marrying me in heaven?"
"Oh my God." I gasped. I couldn't hold the tears in anymore.
"Wow that sounded really stupid," he muttered to himself.
I giggled and protested. "No, it didn't." I pulled his chin up with the tip of my fingers and took a deep breath and said, "Yes. There's nothing that I'd like more."
On his face, I could see a sign of relief. He gave me a wide smile and then his face went unsure again. "I know this is not the engagement you've dreamed of.... and I can't even give you a ring..."
"It's more than I ever dreamed of! And I don't need a ring. All I need is you." I said. "Now, get up and kiss me!" I laughed, with the tears still flowing out of eyes.
He laughed too and did as told. He stood up, pulling me into a kiss.
"I love you, Blake. Oh god, how much I love you." I said between the kisses.
"I love you, Cassie." He replied and he hugged me tighter than ever. Then, he began kissing me even more. He worked his way down from my lips, to my neck, to my collarbone. Carefully, he pulled down the strap of my dress and the other one too. And suddenly we weren't in the living room anymore but we were in a bedroom. I could still hear the music from the other room as my dress dropped to the ground and as we were in bed, underneath the sheets.
If I could, I would freeze the time to stay there forever. It was one of the best nights of my life, even if there was a possibility that it was all created in my mind.
