Suddenly, I was standing out in the cold, the cold breeze pinching my skin. I observed the place around me and noticed a car that had crashed into a tree a few steps to my right. There were metal pieces laying in the snowy carpet. For a moment I was confused as to what had happened and then I remembered everything. I was in shock and didn't know what to do. Carefully, I approached the vehicle and the closer I got the clearer the silhouette sitting inside it got. I realised that it was me in that car. Me. I kept staring at my mum's wrecked car in disbelief. What was happening to me?
Soon a car stopped at the side of the road. And two people ran out of it. A man and a woman. They were shouting but I couldn't bring myself to focus on what they were saying. I just stood there watching the man run to the car checking to see who was inside as the woman stood at a distance speaking into her phone. Everything seemed to be happening in slow motion. I couldn't bring myself to move or speak or listen. It was like I was watching a movie. It felt like I wasn't even a part of it.
"Cassie." A quiet voice approached me although I didn't respond. "It's not over. You're going to have to make a choice."
"I already made that choice, Blake," I answered not even glancing away from the scene. "I wasn't going to end it this way. I wanted to see Lucy first." I admitted calmly. "And then, when I got home... I was going to end it."
"Cassie..." Blake's confusion was clear in his voice.
"I can't live without you." I finally looked up at his shocked expression. "I want to be with you. This is the only way. I'm willing to give up everything for you."
"Cassie, no. You can't do that." His eyes were gazing into mine, disapprovingly.
"I can." I smiled a little reaching for his hand. "You made your choice and this is mine."
An ambulance arrived out of nowhere and there was a bigger crowd around the wreck. However, everything was quiet. All I could hear were muffled voices. Only Blake's voice was crystal clear to me. I pulled him closer to me. I could now feel his warm breath against mine, it could feel the goosebumps run through my skin. I closed the distance, with my lips and everything was gone.
When our lips were apart again we were in a place that was completely different. It was a blindingly white room. I analysed the place around us. It was beautiful. There were roses everywhere and petals have been scattered all over the snowy white floor. I looked at Blake and he was wearing a suit. I was in awe. Everything was so beautiful. Glancing down at myself I realised that I was also wearing something else now. It was gorgeous, white wedding gown. It was so perfect, like a dress every girl dreams of.
A wide smile spread across my face. "This is so beautiful."
Blake smiled back at me. It was the gorgeous smile I was used to, that I haven't seen since he died. It made my heart melt in my chest. The happiness I felt was beyond ecstatic.
In front of us, a girl appeared. She had long luscious blonde hair and was also dressed in white. She wasn't an ordinary girl though. She had huge beautiful wings and she was so gorgeous, perfect. She smiled at us sweetly.
"Cassie, ever since you came into my life you've been amazing. You've always been there for me when I needed you." Blake smiled as he held my hands in his. "I've never met someone as selfless as you and I've never experienced such love as I feel for you."
I could hear my own heartbeat slowing down in the ambulance. And every time I blinked I could see myself laying there. However, I ignored it.
"I love you and I want to be with you."
I was speechless. Here I was, getting married to Blake. Something I dreamed about for a long while. It seemed almost unreal. "Blake, I love you so much I am willing to do anything for you. You have made my life so much better. You have made everyone's life so much better. You're truly a beautiful person and I don't regret this choice and I never will as long as I get to be with you forever."
The angel finally spoke. Her voice a sweet melody creating music with my body's slowing heartbeat. "Do you Blake Bailey, take Cassie Rose Valentine to be your wife?" She asked formally.
"I do," His smile made me chuckle.
"And do you Cassie Rose Valentine, take Blake Bailey to be your husband?"
I breathed. "I do." I still couldn't believe what was happening.
"You may now kiss the bride." The angel said joyfully.
And we kissed. We kissed as if it were the last time. We held on tightly to each other not wanting to let go. He was mine. Truly mine now. Our souls would live on together, intertwined.
I didn't know what anticipated me after that kiss ended but that didn't matter. I was happy. I was with Blake and that's all that mattered to me. It was all I needed. As long as I got to be with him, everything was fine. Actually more than fine.
It was perfect.
