Freshly clothed, she sat in a wooden chair that made her back ache in unfamiliar places. She had a bruise just under her rib cage and a cut circling her ankle that would surely scar. Though, the only thing that concerned her was that she couldn't remember how she had got them.

"We want you on our side." Red-eyes stated. "Instead of their side." He said the word as if it was poison. Maybe it was.

"Who's side is that?" She asked, quirking a questioning brow at him. What was going on? She slumped lower in her seat, feeling a mood swing coming on.

"Irian and his minions think that the threat of Roman is minor, an easy target that will be destroyed shortly. But he's not, an easy target I mean. He's destroyed cities far away from us, and he'll destroy ours if we don't stop him. Your kings taking too long, he'll be dead before sunrise." She blinked in surprise.

"Then. . . I better get back." She felt odd, butterflies flitted around her stomach and she couldn't bring herself to look the man next to her in the eye.

"Yes," he murmured watching her as she stood from the chair and turned to him. "I'll take you to a carriage."

The sky was still clear cerulean and the night still frigid with frost. Red-eyes helped her into the carriage and handed her a small card.

"If you change your mind, my name and address are on that card." He gave her a crooked grin and gripped her wrist tightly.

"Think this through, Anora."

She waited until the man was out of sight and her fingers had stopped shaking until she looked at the card, even then she was still a mess. No one had called her that in years.

Ember Roades, brick street, number 8

"Ember Roades," she whispered to herself, she knew that name from somewhere but just couldn't pin point the whereabouts.

"We've been waiting for three hours!" Ivy let her head fall down as she stood in the hallway, simply standing as she was bombarded with questions.

"I got lost." She stated for the hundredth time.

"Course you did! I'm going to bed." She watched in defeat as Alex retreated to his chambers and India followed. Guess they were a 'thing' now. Irian scratched his chin wearily, he looked so tired these days.

"I. . . We'll deal with this in the morning." With that he turned and made his way to his room.

She glanced up at Iel, the last one there, and braced herself.

"You didn't get lost," he murmured, not a question.

"I didn't." She confirmed, staring into his black eyes daringly.

"You're not going to tell me what happened."

"I won't." She felt her lips quirk up, she liked this game.

He took a step closer to her until she had to crane her kneck up to look at him. His distinct smell invaded her senses, clouding her mind.

"I hope you know what you're doing." He practically whispered, his breath mingling with hers. She couldn't seem to find her voice so she just nodded stiffly, silently pleading her face to not go bright red, though it didn't listen to her.

She felt herself inch closer to him, glancing at his lips, and was surprised when he did the same to her. Their lips were inches away.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Iel said in a husky voice.
