I was cheated Ch.28

HEATH'S P.O.V

I breathed in and out. I had to remind myself to keep the air going in and out of my lungs, to stay in the moment. "What do you mean?" I breath, still holding Lexie in my arms. She pulls away and gets up off the bed we were sitting on, she walks to the window and looks out it.

I stand up and walk up beside her and wrap my arm around her waist. "Do you have cancer?" I ask her.

She looks up at me, shaking her head. "I only wish it was that merciful." she mutters. I look at her, "Then tell me what it is." I beg her. "It's worse than cancer." She whispers, I pull her to look at me. "Lexie, if you died I would have nothing left to live for." I say honestly. The past few days have been some of my best and she wasn't't about to disappear from my life.

"Heath, I have AID's." She says quietly and looking down at the ground. I look down at her wide eyed. I pull her into a fierce hug and I felt tears slowly rolling down my cheeks as she hugged me back with everything she has. I kiss the top of her head and sigh " I love you." I say into her hair.

"I love you too." She says back. "I-" she stammered and paused for a second. "I- I didnt sleep with  anyone. Just so you know..." She trailed off. I nod, I knew she didn't. She's not that kind of person to give up something she could never get back.

"I'll help you." I say trying to hold her closer. "You can't help me, I'm already too far gone with it." Thats where she was wrong, I could save her. "Not if I have anything to do with it." I say kissing the top of her head.

OLIVIA'S P.O.V

"So how did you and mom meet?" I say  holding the coffee mug up and sipping my green tea. My dad smiled, like he was looking back in time and watching his young self seeing my mother for the very first time. "That is such a lame story- very original though." He admits sitting up in his chair and cracking his back.

"I was in a super Wal-Mart packed full of people because I assume a holiday was coming up. But I was in the medicine aisle and I was getting some vitamins cause a pack member was shot by a hunter and there was some joint pain after words. She was in the tampon aisle- which was basically the same aisle. She was with her girlfriend and was stocking up on tampons because they were half off." He laughs and looks down- he seemed to be embarrassed.

"Dont worry dad, I've had my period for like seven years now- nothing to worry about and if you don't know what to get me for my birthday tampons are a good place to start." I say laughind and taking another sip of my tea.

"Well as stupid as this is, I kinda wanted to be there for you. You know? Your first boyfriend, your first Christmas, your friend fights, your period, when you could drive and everything else." he smiled and still looked embarrassed, "I get it." I say trying to reassure him.

"I'm going to go out for a run." I say walking past Zane. "Alone?" He says standing up and coming after me.

“Well where was your first date?”

“Ya well that was definitely original.” He says smirking. "I took her to McDonalds for a burger and shake.” He says nodding and trying not to laugh too much. “Wow dad,” I say “very romantic.” I praise him jokingly. “And it was we ended up on the jungle gym chasing each other around.”

That would have actually been very romantic, chasing each other around on an undersize jungle gym getting all sweaty with each other….. Cool it Olivia were thinking about your mother and your real father doing this.

“Did you ever meet grandma and grandpa?” I ask narrowing my eyes and leaning forward slightly. He leaned forward a bit too and squinted. “They hated me.” He admits. “I don’t think they exactly liked me as a granddaughter.” I admit also.
