COLE'S P.O.V

I slammed the yellow phone book shut and growled in frustration. I got some angry looks form the people sitting scattered around in the library. I've traveled over five states from the top of northern Wisconsin. I stood up and walked out of the public library in the deep city of New York.

I pull my hood over my head and I stuff my hands in the pockets of my grey hooded sweatshirt as I stepped out through the richly designed doors and into the dirty looking streets of the city that never sleeps.

There was a little drizzle coming from the darkening skies as I walked down the steps and to the busy street where I hunched my shoulders trying to get through everyone.

I've looked all over this city and I can't find him. Rage began to bubble up inside of me- from in my heart. Not here Cole, I tell my self. There are way too many people, and way to many witnesses to kill if I do. I grin a small devilish grin, kill them all- right now I could.

I miss her so much I could kill everyone in my path from here on the trash littered streets to the woods into the log cabin. I wipe my eyes as a tear prodded at the edges of them; this city doesn't take in the soft Cole. I tell myself again.

In this city you have to be strong otherwise it will just eat you up.

I lifted my chin up and smelt the air. It smelt like the engine exhaust and dirt, I smelt a faint smell of hotdogs, and hamburgers, dogs, a few cats, and- what is that?

I stopped suddenly having a few people run into my back but not even able to waver me a inch forward or backwards. I sniffed the air again, is that really what I think it is? I step onto the curb and watched the cars go by one by one, in a constant rush trying to get somewhere in this town.

I saw a gap between to yellow taxis and made a dash for it. I was honked at as the one behind the one I dodged behind, slid to a stop as I got in the way. I held up a hand in thanks nut I only got the finger instead.

I roll my eyes, whatever. These city slickers think they own this town; my smile turns into a twisted grin. There's a new werewolf in town, one that was ordered to stay away from his love and is deprived from not seeing her smile and only gets to vision in her head......a werewolf who just found another one in New York.

I follow the faint scent of a wolf and stop in front of an abandoned brick building that used to be a motel. I look one way and then another. I quickly slipped inside without anyone seeing me- I was sure of it.

I could feel it if they had.

I walked down the abandoned corridor and went up two stairways and felt the draft that was going through here. Yes, only a werewolf would be able to live in these conditions. I smelt the scent and a musky smell the wallpaper was making by peeling of the walls.

I looked down the hallway I was just about to enter; it was strong with the scent unlike the faint one in the street.

I went up to the first door and smelt, not this one. It wasn't the next or the next. Finally coming upon the last I smelt the scent that was coming from inside apartment 2D on the third floor.

I stand in front of it and roll my shoulders back from the tension building in them and bring them up, who knows if this werewolf's going to be bigger than me. Probably not considering I was a big wolf.

I rap lightly on the door, I waiting a moment and heard someone rustling around inside. "I told you beggars to go away." Someone growled before jerking the door open. He was frowning and had crease lines in his forehead. His eyes were scary and dark and flashed as he sized me up and decided I wasn't a beggar. He was wearing a white tank top- very white, blue jeans and brown heavy, work boots.
