Chapter 13

I crawl down the large oak tree and my feet slam down into the dirt and twigs on the forest floor, I walk for a good 45 minutes trying to find my way back to the fence blocking the highway, my legs are burning and my throat is as dry as the Sahara desert. I see a bold figure ahead, they have broad shoulders and light hair. "Hello, is any there?"my voice shakes , the wind blows and muffles the voice ahead, blinking trying to wake up from this dream is just not working. I start to slow my pace savouring any energy I have left, my eye lids start to droop and the figure is right in front of me.i feel my feet disconnect from the ground, they move my hair out of my face and kiss my forehead "Peeta?..." I whisper " Your okay love I got you." The man smiles a adorable smile down at me and I cuddle into his chest and fall asleep exhausted mentally and physically, it's not fun being the new girl who has no parents looks after a 13 emotional girl but who you adore, going to school and just bring me. I know I know it sounds petty but it is hard!
Peeta POV
I'm driving on home from the bakery, I decide to stop by the forest where my log cabin is, if I'm ever in danger I'll need food so I grab a loaf of bread from the passenger seat and start walking into the thick forest.
I'm about 15 minutes into the forest when I hear rustling and see a faint outline of a girl, "Hello, is anyone there?" Their voice shakes and they sound terrified and exhausted, Katniss rushes to my brain "Katniss, is that you?!" My stomach twists and turns and my heart is in my throat as I think of Katniss being hurt, they don't respond and I start to jog forward.
I see her beautiful grey eyes and dark brown hair that's a curly mess and I pick her up bridal style, I can't help it and I move a long lock of hair off her face and lightly kiss her forehead.
"Peeta?.." They whisper "Your okay love, I got you" I smile down at the sweet adorable girl in my arms as she cuddles into my chest as they let out a quiet huff. I continue to walk deeper into the forest were I soon find the fairly large log cabin. I unlock the door and step inside, inhaling the cedar woods aroma.
I struggle to keep holding Katniss and I start speed walking into the living room and softly setting her on the couch as I go and kick off my shoes , and put the loaf of bread in the pantry while making sure I haven't woken my sleeping beauty.
I toss my jacket onto a chair and close the pantry, walking over to Katniss I realize that I can't carry her up a ladder into the loft to sleep and she is in jeans and a tank top. I curse my self and I walk into the bathroom/closet and find a baggy tshirt that would probably just cover her enough and a pair of my boxers, I guess that will have to work.
I call out her name and try lightly shaking her shoulder and her eyes flutter open slowly.

"What am I doing here ?" She itches her eyebrow and groans , I take her hand and help her up off the couch and hand her the clothes I grabbed,
"It's a long story Katniss, go get changed and then we will go to sleep"
"We, excuse me but did you just say that we will go to sleep. Thanks for not letting me die in the forest but I'm not sleeping with you if that's what you think you moron" she remarks
"No Katniss, I meant sleep as in sleeping in a bed clothed peacefully " I sigh and feel my heart break a tiny bit to her harsh words
"Mkay nice recovery, Mellark" (I almost wrote bellarke as Peetas last name omg )
She walks into the bathroom and changes, as I wait I lock the door and windows. Katniss walks out wearing my t shirt and boxers and looks adorable, she coughs "Sorry" I mumble and walk in to the bathroom closet thingy and see a sticky on the counter 'I don't hate you Mellark -Katniss ' I smile and grab a pair of fuzzy long pyjama pants and throw my shirt into the hamper and quickly brush my teeth.
I turn of the lights and climb the ladder, I can finally go to sleep.
I lye down and wrap myself in the warm fur blanket and I feel a small figure cuddle into myself. Her leg is draped over my hip and the other intertwined with my own legs, while her arms wrapped around my lower chest and her head is nuzzled into the crook of my neck.
That's one good way to fall asleep..

Hope you enjoy, it's a cute fluffy chapter with a small argument but oh well I love it sorry for being so damn inactive I just have been working so much and it's hard to write all the time without inspiration ! Love you guys 💋💋
