Chapter 9

CHAPTER 9

I couldn't believe my eyes. What were they doing?!

" GUYS!! STOP!!!" I yelled

They wouldn't stop. Why were they making such a big deal out of this? Why was Darren fighting him? Did he like me? No... That couldn't be.

"AGHHN!!!!!!!!"

Stefanie made me jump.

"GUYS, stop fighting. It's not cool. Just stop. You really want to go back to school looking like you came back from a wrestling match?" Jake said.

He tried to split them up, but they just wouldn't stop.

" What the fuck! Stop! " he said.

After minutes of trying, which felt like hours, Jake finally managed to make them stop. They stood up, looking like crap. Darren had blood on his teeth, his right cheek and his left eye. He had a bruise on the left eye. Sam on the other hand, had a big giant bruise on his cheek and two eyes. He had blood all over his face. He looked like shit.

Sam took out a mirror from his pocket.

"Damn. I look horrible. You screwed up my face dude, you will pay. Now how will I get laid?" he said as he left the pizza place.

He was such a dumbfuck. I couldn't believe him!

"Don't worry Darren, lets just go home. I dont think you want to go to school looking like that." Stefanie said as she pointed to his face.

" You guys can come over to my house. My mom and dad are working so they won't know" Jake said.

"But won't the school find out that we werent there and call our parents?" I said pointing the obvious.

" Yes. But we'll make up a lie. Now let's go. Before someone calls the cops or something." Stefanie said.

We all left Pizza Pizza. People were staring at us. Pointing at Darren's face and whispering. It was probably the first time they witnessed a fight. Especially since it was in a Pizza place. Like not really a good place to fight. Am I right?

We all headed towards Jakes house, which wasn't far away. Then, I noticed something.

We were all going to Jakes house to hang out.

AND DARREN WAS COMING.

After about 10 minutes of walking, we finally got to his house.

"Come on guys. Let's go upstairs to my room." Jake said as we followed him upstairs

" Hey dude. May I please use your bathroom? " Darren asked.

I had almost forgotten about his face. About the whole fight.... I mean I never knew Darren and Sam would ever get into a fight like that. Was it the way that Sam treats girls that made Darren mad? Or was it because he was treating me badly? I didn't know. But I couldn't help wonder.

He got out of the bathroom with a towel in his hand. His face looked clearer. The blood was gone, but there was still a couple of bruises.

"Ok! So what do you guys wanna do?! Watch a movie?" Stefanie said.

Jake looked at her and have her a weird look.

"No! That's boring! Why don't we play a game..? Oh! I know! Why don't we play 21 questions?!" Jake said.

I nodded and I saw Darren nodding too.

We all sat in a cirlcle. Darren was sitting to my right and Stefanie to my left, with Jake beside her.

"Ok! Let's start! Can I go first?" Jake said excitedly.

Stefanie nodded and he asked the first question.

" Ok. Stefanie. Who was your first kiss??"

Stefanie gave him a glare and I knew why. It was because Jake already knew her first kiss- it was him. He loved to tease her about it.

"You know who! You!" Stefanie said. I think I also heard her mutter 'dumbass' and that made me laugh.

"Ok Stefanie your turn." I quickly said.

"Ok. Umm... Darren! Who was your first kiss?"

" Hey! I already asked you that question! You can't ask it again! "

We all laughed.

" Too bad!"

Darren looked kind of embarrassed. He started talking about when he was 14 and his first kiss was at night.

"..... I snuck out of my house. It was midnight and I don't think my parents would be too happy if they found out I was leaving the house. I took her to the woods. After that, I found the perfect tree and I pushed her against it while my lips were on hers. It wasn't like a make out session, but ya..." He said.

It sounded so romantic. I never knew that Darren was like that. Maybe today I found the romantic part of him. I mean his story sounded so cute.

"Ok. My turn. Umm... Alex. Who do you like?"

I quickly got back into reality after thinking. I felt myself get red. What would I say. I mean did I really like Darren? I didn't know. Even if I did, I wouldn't tell him now. So I thought of something. I would just lie about my crush.

"umm.. Ok. I like Jesse."

This was a reasonable answer. Jesse was nice and cute. Plus, he was really smart. I talked to him for maybe about 5 minutes, but that was the only answer I could think of at the time.

" Omg! You like Jesse?! Why didn't you tell me!" Stefanie yelled excitedly.

I gave her the look and said

" Well. I dunno... Hes nice and sweet. Plus hes also cute." I quickly said.

While I said this, I could see Darren's face. He didn't look very happy. Was Darren jealous? No that couldn't be... I mean he had a girlfriend. Maybe I was just imagining things...

We continued the game. I asked weird questions like 'most embarrassing moment' or 'deapest secret'. Then, it hit me. I knew what to ask Darren next. I don't know why I asked this but, I jut felt the need to know.
