So, here I stand on the end line,
a few feet from it, I sigh, inhaling slowly,
wondering when I can call my own life mine.
I calm myself ready to speak out,
when a voice overides me, silencing my thoughts,
saying 'listen here, to what's this is all about.'
I quiver and shake worried for a hateful word
will it bring sorrow and despair to myself?
Or will kindness be heard?
Every answer is inside you, waiting to escape,
pushing me, teasing me, too speak to you,
but I keep silent understanding, thats just the bait.
I cover my face, tears falling,
thinking tomorrow will turn to the sun,
maybe a gentle, kind, soul will come calling.
I hide it, I won't give you a feat,
of knowing you shook me, and hurt me,
every day emotionally beat.
