Leah's POV
I couldn't do anything, but stare at Dustin wide eyed. I wasn't just going to get all up and personal with him, especially about my deepest darkest secrets, that wouldn't ever happen as a matter of fact. I'm actually starting to get mad at him. I get that he's this big bad boy, but I am tired of being treated as garbage from him, no amount of grades are worth dealing with him, and I'm tired of dealing with getting beat down like this.
"No Dustin, I wont be telling you anything about me until I get at least something from your god damn mouth about yourself," I yell, "you wont be learning about my said 'deepest darkest secrets', I am not going to be pushed down from you! This project isn't worth it, and I'm done being treated as trash. Hell I'll go avoid you until I graduate if it means not getting shit from!" I finish and put my notebooks into my bag.
"So she speaks her mind for once," Dustin calls out, leaning back in his chair, hands behind his head, "but I see whatcha mean nerd, I'll tell you my favorite color okay?" He asked, I let out an angered sigh and looked at him.
"What's your favorite color?"
Dustin's POV
Of course I was gonna mess with her. Did Leah really expect me to all of the sudden change my mood for her? Hearing her attempt to yell at me honestly made me laugh. It was a little to innocent to actually effect me in any way, not that it would have in the first place. Too bad she doesn't know I mean it when I said I'll find out her deepest darkest secrets. She's hiding something from everyone, and I tend to find out what it is.
"So she speaks her mind for once," I tell her, leaning back in my chair, moving my hands behind my head, messing with the back of my hair, "but I see whatcha mean nerd, I'll tell you my favorite color okay?" I asked with my signature smirk, normally it works with everyone to get what I need out of people, but it doesn't seem to work on her, she just stares at me, letting out a long angered sigh.
"What's your favorite color?" She asked me, still standing up and walking by my door, leaning against the frame with her arms crossed. The sleeves of her dress rolled up a bit and I see what I think is a bruise, kind of in the shape of a hand, I guess I stared a little too long because she pulled her sleeves back down.
"It's yellow," I answer, that's when I hear my moms car pull up into the driveway. I stand up and grab Leah's hand and sit her on the bed "Do not leave this room until I say to," I tell her.
"I'm leaving Dustin, let me out" She says, trying to push past me, but I grab her wrist, which slides her sleeve up more than before and I look down, seeing more bruises and even some of what I think are cuts from bottles.
Leah's POV
Once Dustin grabbed my wrist, I knew exactly how this was going to end. I yanked my wrist away, but then he pulled me into his room and shut the door, standing in front of it. "What was that on your arm, show me" he said, in what some could consider a soft voice. Well a soft voice for someone who either talks in a normal annoyed voice, or an angered voice.
"Dustin let me out," I mumbled. I was so close to slapping him in the face, of course I couldn't since I'm 'too nice', but thinking about it keeps me a tiny bit calm. I look at my phone and see it's almost 6:30, I was supposed to be home almost thirty minutes ago. My dad is going to kill me.
I start to panic. Dustin sees this and opens the door, walking to me and slightly bending down to face me, "Leah, calm down, it's okay, I just don't want my mom to assume I slept with you," I just look at him, then I rush out of his house, then into my car. I park it a little bit away from the house. I don't want to risk my dad bashing it in, especially if he's been drinking. I don't want my sister bashing it either, God knows she hates me enough to do as much and blame it on some teenager in our neighborhood, or just say I crashed and that I'm lying, I already see my dad backing her up too.
