Dustin's POV
Once I got out of my last period class I grabbed my bag from my locker and looked around for Leah. Once I saw her I tapped her arm before walking out to my car. Hopefully she would get the gist of it and follow me. She did, which was good, I wasn't in the mood to go find her again. After backing out of the schools parking lot, which can I just add it needs to be redone, it's really fucking cracked and bumpy.
After parking my car in the driveway I waited for Leah to park hers. I looked at her arms for a second, but of course they were covered up with the long sleeves of her sweatshirt, sighing I walked up to the front door and opened it, letting her walk in first. I closed the door and put my car keys on the hook by the front door and walked into the living room. I see my mother with Abby who I'm assuming is sick since she's in her pajamas from last night. Lucky for me my mom hasn't been drunk lately which is always a good sign. I'm just hoping she can keep this up.
Leah's POV
When I entered the living room I see a woman who I'm assuming is Dustin's mother, and I see a little girl who looks to be Dustin's younger sister. They looked at me and the little girl smiled, running up to me, her mom followed, putting her hand on the girls shoulder.
"Hello," the little girl said holding out her hand, "my name is Abby. Are you Leah?" She asked me. I looked at Dustin for a second, he was talking to his family about me? What was he saying? It probably wasn't good anyways.
I shook it off and looked back down at the girl with a smile, "I am," I stated shaking her hand gently, "It's nice to meet you Abby," I looked at Dustin's mom, whose hand was also held out, I took it and started to shake it, but she pulled me into a big bear hug. It was a feeling I hadn't had in nine years.
Once she pulled away she introduced herself, "I'm Mary, it's very nice to meet you," she said ever so kindly, a gentle smile playing on her lips. I looked down at my bag shyly, gripping it slightly.
"Okay introduction is over now, come on Leah, lets get this project over with," Dustin said, starting to walk up the stairs. I followed him into his room, sitting on his bed, pulling out my notebook. All he needs to do is cooperate and this will be one-hundred times easier, not to mention faster.
Dustin's POV
Once Leah sat down on my bed I stared at her, my arms crossed over my chest. She looked at her notebook for a minute, almost as if she was thinking of something else, almost zoning out. I leaned up to her and snapped my fingers in her face, she flinched and looked at me. I sat back in my chair with a slight smirk.
She rummaged through her bag and grabbed a pen out of her third pocket, "What's your favorite color?"
"Grey, yours?"
"Blue," she stated writing down her question and my answer, I chuckled and grabbed my phone, answering a few texts and going through Instagram, along with Twitter as she continued asking questions.
"Favorite food?" was her next question.
I thought for a moment before answering with a simple, "Pizza."
I glanced at her for a moment, her long brown hair was covering her face, it's almost as if she was trying to hide her face from me. I wanted so badly to move it out of her face, but instead I just went back to playing through my phone.
I was quickly getting bored of her questions, so I decided to play some A Day To Remember.
Leah's POV
I was writing Dustin's answer to what his favorite movie was, I was surprised to hear that it was Haunting in Connecticut considering I like the second movie. Once he started playing Out Of Time by A Day To Remember I looked at him holding in my smile. He liked some of the same music I like?
"I've never felt so sober," I mumbled along with the song. Dustin's head shot up and he looked at me. I quickly stayed silent, knowing he heard me, and continued writing.
"No, keep singing. You're the first person to know any of the sings I listen to," he said. I felt my cheeks heating up. I hated my singing with a passion, but I continued mumbling the song.
I could have sworn I saw him smiling as I continued, "What the fuck am I doing? I can't tell the difference from wrong and right," I continued with the song, then I heard Dustin take my place and continue. I giggled as he sang loudly, I decided to join him as well.
Once the song was done I started laughing. He did too. I sighed and caught my breath. That's when we heard someone clearing their throat. I jumped and looked to see Mary leaning against the door frame with her arms crossed over chest. I looked at Dustin who was doing the same thing. I smiled knowing where he must've gotten that from.
"Well, I didn't know this was working on the project," she said with a chuckle, I looked down at my hands, twirling my thumbs around, "Well, it's almost six. Leah would you like to stay for dinner?" She asked and Dustin stood up.
"No!" he yelled making me jump. I looked up at him and then back at my hands, shaking my head.
"No, I'll be okay. I should get going anyways," I said. I quickly packed my bag and walked past Dustin and Mary out of his room. I ran down the stairs and out the door, but a small hand grabbed my wrist.
I turned around and looked down at Abby who had a very red nose and heated cheeks. She coughed into her other arm before speaking. "Where are you going?" She asked me.
"I'm going to go home."
"Please stay for dinner," she mumbled looking sad. I shook my head and gently pulled her hand off of my wrist. She looked as if she was about to cry, "What did he do?" she asked me angrily. I knew she was referring to Dustin. I let out a small sigh and knelt down in front of her, moving her hair out of her saddened and angered face.
"He just doesn't like me," I started, "sometimes we just have to understand that and move on." I finished and stood up, walking out of the door, closing it gently behind me before walking to my car and driving to the store. I decided to stock up on food, most of it will be for my father and Jazz, but I'll get a few things for me so I don't starve.
I walked into the store and grabbed some fruit, milk, cheese, bread, cereal, meats of all sorts considering I didn't know what kind they liked, vegetables, and some candy to last me the rest of the week.
After I paid for it all I thanked the cashier and drove home, putting all the food away and grabbing my candy, walking into my room and going through my notebooks, looking at Dustin's answers to my questions. I smiled at some of them, frowned at others and burst out laughing at a few of the weird answers. Putting my notebook back into my bag I laid back onto my bed with a sigh remembering the party I was being forced to go to.
I shook my head and played Animal by Neon Trees as I got ready for bed. I laid on my bed and closed my eyes, letting the darkness consume me.

HEYO!
The songs in this chapter are the ones I was listening at the moment I wrote that specific chapter. Anywho my birthday is in four days which I'm kind of excited for, somewhat.
That's it though, have a good day.
