Dustin's POV

After taking a few hours to relax and think some things through I headed home.  My mom was either making dinner or out drinking, either way she doesn't care if I go out, as long as I'm back home by morning.

Once I got home I walked into the kitchen to see my mom on the phone with someone, and my sister doing her math homework.  I looked over Abby's shoulder for a moment, smiling when I see she has all of her answers correct so far.  I looked at the stove and saw my mom was making dinner, but of course she had a glass of wine next to her as she did so.  I, of course, just ignored it and sat next to Abby.

After my mom got off the phone she didn't say a word until she finished preparing dinner.  She gave us our plates before sitting down and eating.  She asked Abby about her day first as usual, giving a few 'mmms' and 'ahhhs' after she explained a game she played or project she did.

"So, Dustin, how was your day?  Who was that girl you had to do a project with?" Mom asked.  I sighed and sat up, taking a bite of food, chewing and swallowing before I answered.

"Her name is Leah Martin, schools nerd.  Nice to people when they talk to her, but other than that she's extremely quiet and shy.  Basically a nobody," I shrugged.  My mom shook her head gently before looking down at her food.

Abby just sat and gave me a long stare before opening her mouth, "Can I meet her?  Is she pretty?  Do you like her?" She started asking.  I groaned and looked at my mom, who of course had curiosity in her eyes.

I took another bite of my food, glancing at my mom and sister, knowing I won't get out of this without an answer.  "If you see her you can meet her.  She's prettier than some, but not all, she isn't ugly though, I can say that much.  And no I don't like her," I finished, looking at my mom, annoyed with the conversation, "Can I go now?" In which she simply nodded.  I got up and put my plate in the sink before walking to my room and playing Sleepwalking by Bring me the Horizon.

My mom walked in, a clear angered expression on her face.  She crossed her arms and glared at me.  I paused my music and looked at her, when she didn't speak first I sighed and asked, "What?"

She rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Mr. Write called about your outburst in class about the project," she started, I slready knew where this was going, "I don't care if you like this Leah girl or not, I expect this project done, and I want to see a good grade on it.  I don't know what you said to make her cry like that, but if I see it again, you're in serious trouble.  If she's a so called 'nobody' in your book you better make her a somebody because I will not stad for you to treat her with any less respect than anyone else at that school.  Am I clear Dustin?" She finished.

I stared shocked for a second.  My mom has never said this about any other girl I've been with, why would she start with Leah.  I shook it off and nodded, "Alright, alright I'll get the project done," I mumbled.  My mom smiled a small smile before walking out the door, closing the door behind her.  I laid back on my bed with a slight smirk, staring at the ceiling.

"Oh Leah, what is there to know about you?"

Leah's POV

I was not in the mood for waking up this morning.  I was sweating bullets, my throat felt like I swallowed fucking ninja stars or something.  My head hurt, my eyes stung, and the worst part.  I had school and nobody to call me in sick.

Getting up I dragged my feet downstairs to the kitchen and got myself some cold water to hopefully drain my headache a bit, and soothe my throat.  I went back into my room and got dressed in a large sweat shirt and some leggings, along with my leather boots that I rarely ever wear.  I check my clock and see I still have two hours left until class starts.  Walking all the way back downstairs, really far I know, I get an apple and start slowly eating it, playing some All Time Low.

About an hour later I get a phone call:

"Hello," I say, forgetting to check who the caller was.

"Hey, girly, you sound sick, are you coming into school," I let out a sigh of relief hearing it's only Kelly.

"Yeah, but I don't have any meds, can you get me some cough drops?  My throat is killing me," I say, hearing my own scratchy voice, sighing, which I stopped as soon as I realized it only made it worse.

"Sure thing, I'll give them to you before you go to first period," she replied.  I heard shuffling in the background, she was probably packing her books.  "Listen I gotta go, my mom's calling me, probably important," she said quickly.  I quickly replied with an 'Ok' before hanging up.

I checked the time quickly, it read 7:02, I sighed and grabbed my backpack, grabbing my keys off of the counter and walking out the front door, locking it behind me before I headed down the block to my car.

After blasting the AC for a moment, not realizing how hot it gets in cars on hot mornings, I made my way to school, stopping at the gas station to fill up and grab a large bottle of water for my throat.

Once I get to school I walk to my locker and grab my history, science, and math books when my locker door is slammed shut.  I look up and see that it's Dustin.  I glance at my books waiting for him to say something, anything.  He didn't.

"What do you need?" I mumbled, trying to talk as minimal as possible to help my throat.  He glanced at his side, smirking at the people walking by, some staring as they made their way to class.  I could hear snickers by some kids, some gave me an empathic look.

"Meet me at my house after school to work on the project.  I realized I need this grade as much as you do.  If I don't see you there I'll just make your life--" I cut him off mid sentence.

"I'll be there," I muttered, turning around and walking the other direction.  Luckily I ran into Kelly who gave me the cough drops.  I popped one in my mouth before walking into class and sitting in my normal spot.

I was so not looking forward to after school.

Heyo!

Why not do a 3am update.  My friend really wanted one too.  This is mostly a filler, but the next one will be a lot better.  I should have that chapter up the latest probably being next Thursday.  Anyways, I'll try and sneak on as much as possible to update.
