(Listen to the song while reading this chapter. I legit almost cried when I did. Sensitive teens be like)
Dustin's POV
Lisa gave me a sly smile, "I'm going shopping after school for a dress for the dance if you want to watch me try them on," she whispered rather seductively. It disgusted me how much of a slut she was, but I needed to get over Leah.
Looking at Lisa I gave her a smirk and a nod, along with a long kiss before walking to my locker, putting my backpack into it. As I passed by Leah she completely avoided my gaze as I walked by her. When I was relatively close to her she automatically moved away from me. It made me feel hurt, I really fucked up, not only did I fall for the schools nerd, but I hurt her as well, and seeing her like this hurt me as well, if not more since I know I was the cause of this.
I was in a pissed off mood the rest of the day, I walked to Lisa and canceled our plans, but I knew Kelly and Leah had to be going to the mall to shop for dresses. It was what Kelly did, so Leah had to as well. Of course I had a plan to prove Leah had fallen for me, I just needed to figure out how I was going to get this plan to work.
Leah's POV
After school, Kelly drove me to the mall so we could pick out dresses for a party I didn't even want to go to, but it might be a good way to get my mind off of things. I hope.
"What about this one?" I heard Kelly ask me for the seventh time, she already had a dressing room set up for her which was full and I mean full of dresses, I could have sworn she was trying on the whole damn store. Though this dress definitely looked like something that Kelly would wear.
"I really like that one, but you should try all of them on, I want to see which one looks best," I said with a smile. Kelly squealed and ran into the dressing room to try the dressing room.
I received a text from Dustin, but this one was a video, well an audio. I sighed and put in headphones, playing the audio when I realized this was a song. It was Your Call by Secondhand Serenade, but this was the acoustic version which I personally thought was better, I think he liked that version better as well. I listened to the song, but then I actually listened to the song and I froze.
"Figure it out yet?" I heard someone whisper in my ear. I jumped and turned around, seeing Dustin holding a dress, along with a smirk playing across his face.
"I don't get it," I whispered, trying to understand what any of this meant.
"You'll figure it out. For now put this on, I want to see if my judgement was correct," Dustin stated shoving the dress in my arms. I must admit it was very pretty, but I wasn't going to tell him that of course. I let out a fake sigh and walked into a dressing room, putting the dress on, looking in the mirror and gasping.
The dress was absolutely beautiful, I don't think I've worn anything that looked so much like me! I smiled widely and spun around, keeping my eyes on the mirror, looking at myself in every pose I could think of. I walked out of the dressing room and looked in the mirror again, just to make sure the shitty lighting in the dressing room was the only reason this dress looked good on me.
"Holy fuck. Dustin was right. You do look hot in that dress" Kelly gasped, running to me and smiling, "we don't need to look anymore, I'm already planning what I want to do to your hair, and makeup."
I looked at the dress once again, paying attention to the details. The dress was down to just above my knees, it had long sleeves, and the color, the color was so beautiful. It was a black dress with sheer lace going over the top of it. I looked at Dustin who was on his phone, probably texting someone he was going to hook up with at the party.
I took a deep breath and shook my head slowly, he was not going to ruin my night, no matter how hard it was to bear the thought of him with another girl. I ran back into the dressing room, taking off the dress and changing back into my clothes, holding back the tears that were daring to fall down.
Dustin's POV
My plan was working quite well. Picking out the dress wasn't to easy since most of them only went down mid thigh, and I knew Leah would not wear something like that. Kelly came out of the dressing room, looking around the room, probably for Leah. She saw me and froze up, making me laugh slightly.
"She's trying a dress on," I said walking up to her, she let out a long sigh and smiled.
"Finally, she hasn't tried anything on the whole time we've been here."
"How long would that be?"
"Almost three hours," Kelly stated, looking slightly guilty. I laughed, and then looked towards the dressing rooms, seeing Leah walk out slowly, her hair covering her face slightly. I couldn't help but stare at her.
"Beautiful, absolutely beautiful." I muttered. Kelly and Leah look at me their eyes wide. I looked back at them confused.
Fuck, did I just say that out loud?
