Chapter 44: Welcome Back.

Lexi's POV :)

        *after the surgery*

        I open my eyes to see Harry sitting right in front of me.

        "Lex! How are you?" he said worriedly.

        "I'm fine Harry," I smiled at him. I looked down at his leg. He had a large bandage wrapped around it. "How's your leg doing?"

        "It's fine," he said. "The doctors put some medication on it which numbed it, and then they pulled the bullet out. Luckily, it wasn't too deep into my skin."

        "Oh, okay...that's great," I responded.

        I looked down at my arm and saw that I had an IV in my arm. I followed the tubing up to the rack and saw that I had a couple blood bags too.

        "Why do I have all these blood bags?" I asked Harry.

        "Well..um you lost a lot of blood Lex. The doctors said you should have died. Well, you did die. But, some miracle happened..and now you are still here," he said while kissing me on the cheek.

        I just remembered something.

        Raegan.

        She saved my life.

        "Harry I have to tell you something."

        "Okay, shoot," he said.

        "Well, Raegan...she saved me. She brought me back to life." Harry's jaw dropped.

        "What do you mean she "saved" you?"

        "She told me that you loved me and that I made you happier than she ever did. She also told me that she was jealous of our relationship. But, she is now happy for us. She realized that you had to move on...and she's glad that you moved on. She said that I saved you Harry."

        Harry cupped my face in his hands and kissed me.

        "Lex, I love you with all of my heart. You know that right? I love you. So much. You know that when I thought you were dead, my heart broke into a million pieces. I was thinking the entire time, "What will I do without Lex..." But, I'm so glad that you are here, baby. I love you so much." Then he kissed me again. It was a long and passionate kiss. I am so grateful that I am still alive. I don't know what I would do without Harry. He is the love of my life.

        "I love you too Harry," I said as tears ran down my face.

        Harry took his thumb and wiped the tears away.

        "Stop crying now," he said. "There are some people out in the waiting room that have been dying to see you."

        Harry opened up the door and yelled something down the hallway.

        Next thing I know, I see my mother and Derek walk through the doorway.

        "Derek! Mom!" I yelled.

        "Sweetheart!" my mom yelled as she ran towards my bed. "How are you baby?" she said while giving me a hug.

        "I'm fine mom. I'm just thankful to be here."

        "Welcome back little sis," Derek said while leaning down and giving me a hug. "You almost gave me a heart attack Lex. I'm so glad you are okay."

        "Derek, thank you so much for saving me," I told him. "If it wasn't for you, I would be dead right now."

        "No problem sis. That's my job. To protect you." Derek poked me on the nose. I laughed.

        "Where's Derek?" I asked.

        "He's here at the hospital, getting surgery to get the bullet out of his arm," Derek said.

        "Oh..." I had a worried look on my face.

        "Don't worry baby," my mother said while moving my hair away from my face. "That bastard is not coming anywhere near you...EVER again." Then she kissed me on the forehead. My mom never cusses unless she is very upset...it was kinda weird hearing her cuss.

        "Thanks mom," I said.

        "No problem sweetie. Now we are gonna leave because you have had a very long day." She leaned down and kissed me on the forehead. "I love you sweetheart."

        "Love ya too mom."

        "Bye, little sis. Love ya."

        "I love you too Derek. See ya guys tomorrow?"

        "Yea, we will be here. Goodnight sweetie."

        My mom and Derek walked out the door, and then Harry walked in.

        "So how did everything go?" 

        "Everything went great," I replied. "I'm just so happy that I got to see them again..and you. Especially, you."

        Harry leaned down and kissed me.

        "I'm so glad that you are alright Lex," he told me.

        "Are you staying the night here with me Harry?"

        "Yes, love. Of course." He smiled at me. His smile was just so beautiful.

        Harry sat down on the couch right next to me.

        "I'll be right here if you need anything love."

        "Thanks Harry."

        Harry grinned at me, and then he laid down on the couch.

        I guess it's time for me to get some sleep too. 

        Sleep.

        This is what I have been deprived of for weeks now...

        Finally, I get to sleep.
