"Welcome To Kingston Academy, Isabella," the headmaster greeted as I sat in front of her desk. The seat was a black leather to match all the black furniture in the room. Her desk had a large computer positioned on the far right and there was paperwork scattered along the desk.

"Thank you Mrs Darine," I replied with a simple smile. The knots in my stomach drew tighter the longer I sat in the chair. Being here, this place, it was overwhelming.

"Now, here is your timetable," she said, handing a piece of paper over to me. "The keys to your room and locker," she said handing me over two keys, "and there will be a student coming to collect you shortly to show you to your room."

I nodded and stared at my timetable. First up on Monday was mathematics. Darn. Surely being in a performing arts school meant I could miss out on maths?

A knock sounded on the door.

"Come in," Mrs Darine called. I heard the door slowly creak open behind me and I turned my head to see who was entering.

A boy with shaggy blonde hair and sparkling green eyes walked into the room and closed the door behind him. This boy was hot. Like, boy next door hot. I  hope he couldn't see my jaw hitting the floor.

"You asked for a favor?" he asked walking towards the desk, not noticing I was sitting right beside him.

"Yes Xavier, I would like you to show Isabella around, it's her first day," she said, guestering to me. Xavier turned his head and looked down at me. A small smile grew on his face as he put his hand out to me.

"Xavier," he greeted. I nervously took his hand and shook it.

"Isabella."

"Now, I arranged that Isabella is in all your classes so that she knows someone. Whether she wants to sit with you or not is her own decision," Mrs Darine stated, looking away and typing something into her computer. Well, I guess that was it with her.

"Great, so shall we?" he said, guestering his hand to the door.

"Uh- yeah I guess," I said, hopping out of my seat and grabbing my suitcase. I went to grab my other bag when his hand grabbed it before me.

"I got it," Xavier said, picking up the bag. I recoiled my hand back shyly.

"Thanks," I said, lowering my head. Why am I so nervous?  He walked towards the door and I followed him quietly into the main office.

"I'll show you the main places and you can just figure out the rest," he said as he walked out of the office and into a hallway.

"That's fine," I answered, lugging my suitcase behind me as we strolled down the corridors.

"The hallways and classrooms are easy to follow. From the office there are the 100's rooms, then the hallway next to it is the 200's and so on. Each hallway has a certain subject that they cater for. Is that understandable?" he explained, stopping in the hallway.

"Easy enough," I answered, looking around the hallway.

I lied. I was overwhelmed. This place was huge. And I mean huge. This corridor looked like it went on for miles and the lights were mini chandeliers. Yep. Chandeliers. In a high school.

Lucky I got a scholarship to get in here, because my mum sure wouldn't be able to afford it. Not when the hallway lights were mini chandeliers.

"Now as you head down this hallway," he said, beginning to walk off again. "it leads you to the school yard entrance."
