Monday Morning
"Get up! Get up! Get up!" Stacey yelled, jumping above me on my bed. I snapped my eyes open and glared up at her.
"Really?" I grumbled, rubbing my eyes.
"First day of school!" she squealed, jumping off my bed.
"No," I grumbled, putting my pillow over my head. She pulled it off and smiled.
"But we get to see Ashten this morning!"
"No!" I grumbled again and hid my face back in the pillow.
"Now why not?" she frowned, once again taking the pillow off of me and chucking it across the room.
"Because hes a stupid player, that I will like to stay away from!" I told her, tossing my blankets off of me and hopping up.
"He can play with me all he wants! He is hot!" Stacey drooled, walking for our door.
"School starts in 20 minutes- I'll be downstairs with your breakfast," she said, then walked out. I walked over to my closet and pulled out my jeans, white tank top and my brown boots. After I was dressed I put my blonde hair up into a messy ponytail and walked out into the hallway.
The hallway was filled girl all busily scurring along, making there hair sit perfect.
"Ashten is in my P.E class!" one girl giggled. I turned my nose up at them as I passed.
I entered the kitchen and was suprised to see it was empty. Stacey was behind the counter, pulling something out of the oven.
"Why is there no one in here?" I asked Stacey, putting my bag on the ground as I sat on the hot pink stool.
"The girls dont eat breakfast here. They all grab salads at the cafe' " she said, picking up three pancakes from the oven tray and putting them on a plate.
"Stacey. Why were they in the oven?" I asked as she smothered them in maple syrup.
"Cooking them. duh" she said in a matter of fact tone, placing the pancakes infront of me.
"Its my first time cooking pancakes!" she said excitedly as she placed a knife and fork down beside the plate. "Tell me what you think."
I nodded and picked up the knife and fork. I went to put my fork in the pancakes but they couldnt. I tried again with more force and I snapped the pancake in half. Literally, in half.
"Crispy. Just the way I like them," I said sarcastically.
"I did horrible, didnt I" Stacey said glumbly, sitting down beside me.
"No!" I lied. I picked up half of the pancake with my fingers and took a bite. It crumbled in my mouth and I had to hold my lips shut so I wouldnt spit it out. I chewed and swallowed and looked over at Stacey.
"Delicious,"
"Really?" she said, her face lifting.
"Absolutely," I lied again. Note to self: never agree to eat Staceys food ever again! "Hey, we get to see Ashten soon," I said, hoping to cheer her up.
"We do! Forget the pancakes, we'll go to the cafe' later. We gotta go!" she said, jumping off her chair and practically running for the door.
"Yes!" I whispered to myself and grabbed my bag and ran out of the door behind her.
