Chapter 10
Mrs. Pendleton let out screams as the doctor walked away from her and her family. "Nehemiah! He was my baby!" She cried over and over. Nazir sat in the corner, grieving. Natahalia was by his side. "Shh, don't cry everything will be alright." She kept telling him repeatedly. But Natahalia didn't know how it felt to lose a sibling.
"I can't believe he's gone." Nazir mumbled through his tears. Natahalia rubbed his neck, since there wasn't much she could do. "Those motherfuckers killed my brother, they wanted me." "Don't say that. Maybe it was misidentification." "I'm telling you Natahalia, it was me, they wanted me. You know Nehemiah and I look a lot alike so they thought he was me."
Mrs. Pendleton followed the nurse inside to see her son. She wept repeatedly as she saw her lifeless son laying in the cold room. He had bullet holes all over his chest. She couldn't believe this was her full of life, spontaneous son of hers.

Nicole sat on the swing beside her sister. "So did you talk to Nazir yet?" Natahalia hadn't seen him since the hospital. "Nope, and I'm worried. He might end up getting revenge." "That sounds like him. But he needs to leave them alone, he thinks he's all tough but he's really not. He's compared to the ones who killed Nehemiah." Natahalia knew her sister was right, the Pendletons might end up losing two sons.
Nazir pulled up to where Nicole and Natahalia were. "You two want a ride home?" "Where are you headed?" Natahalia asked as her and Nicole got inside the car. "Places." "Don't go going to get revenge." "Nat, stay out of this." "You want your parents to lose their only children? Cause if you go, you'll get killed." "You're paranoid." "Nazir listen to your girlfriend. She's right, you're going to get your ass killed tonight." Nicole intervened.
Nazir was listening to ever word. He knew that if they didn't care they wouldn't try to perusade him not to. Nazir opened his glove compartment and showed the gun." I won't do it." He gave the gun to Nicole and she placed it in her bag.
"Thank you, remember you need to stay around not only for your daughter, but to keep your brother's memory around." Natahalia told Nazir as she leaned in and gave him a passionate kiss.
