It was a week after Kurt got out of the hospital, and along him, Blaine and Burt, before the two went to six flags. It was a whole lot of fun, and Kurt could remember it like yesterday.
Right now, with a box in his arms seven years later, he realized how far they've come from that day. After a little convincing on the Warbler's part, Kurt and Blaine had went to a therapist. Admittedly, the therapist said that they were surprising, dealing well. But they did need her.
"You two are doing fantastic." she said one afternoon. " Today, we're going to talk about how you two felt during this happening."
Kurt looked at Blaine before looking at Emma, their therapist.
"I felt-" Kurt was surprised that he was having so much difficulty. There were so many feelings he thought it would be easy to explain. "Scared, but at the same time, expected. Dread, I suppose, but I was more...in shock. Sort of like it wasn't all real. I was just watching it. When-when-"
"When Karofsky attacked Kurt, I was shocked. It was so much more terrifying than any movie I've seen. I wasn't good with blood either. None of it. But for some reason, I wasn't really thinking about that when the knife was impaled in his stomach. I kind of felt. Angry. Fustrated. Mad."
"Protective, but sort of like I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. " finished Kurt, looking at his hands.
"Yeah." said Blaine. "But we weren't really comprehending. It feels like a blur now."
"I understand." said Emma, nodding.
"And?" asked Kurt and Blaine.
"Nothing. Do you feel better?" asked Emma, raising a finely primmed brow.
"Oh. Yes." the two mumbled. "
"Kurt?" asked Blaine. "Are you ready to go ?"
When Kurt didn't respond, he turned to the boy and smiled, shaking his shoulder. Kurt did a double take before responding.
"Um." said Kurt. He was still holding the box, sitting on the floor in their bed room.
"We're going out." reminded Blaine, his hazel eyes looking at Kurt. 'Are you okay? We can stay here."
"It's okay." fixed Kurt, smiling putting the box aside on a shelf. "I'm okay. I'm going downstairs to find the car keys."
Blaine turned as Kurt left, but when he turned back to the shelf. He noticed a stuffed bunny on the ground. His brows furrowed a little as he realised what it was.
"This is nice." said Kurt with an ice cream cone in his hand. They've been on four rides, and Kurt was a little tired. He's been sleeping in a hospital for months. Even with regular excercise, he is still easily worn out.
"I know." said Blaine, taking Kurt's hand. Kurt smiled as he walked along. A little while later, Blaine noticed a small stand. It wasn't very popular, with barely anyone there. This stuck Blaine was weird, because stands in six flags generally have people. He barely realised that he'd walked over there when Kurt shook his shoulder.
"Where are we going?" asked Kurt, eyeing the stand with amusement.
"Let's see." said Blaine as he neared the stand. The person at the counter looked surprised when he noticed people at his stand. He smiled like a showsmen before speaking.
"Hello! Are you two gentlemen here for a round of water target?" he asked.
"Sure." said Blaine, smiling. "How much?"
"Five dollars please."
Kurt choked on his ice cream beside Blaine, but the hazel eyed boy handed the guy the money.
"Round one." he man said, passing a hose to Blaine.
"A hose?" asked Blaine, raising an eyebrow.
"Do you want to play?" challenged the man, though Kurt thought he really was in no condition to do so.
"Yes." said Blaine, before asking. " How do you play?"
"You just have to aim the hose at the bullseye on the target, and if you hit it, you win." said the man with a slightly eerie smile. He switched on the water.
"Whoa." said Blaine as fans began to blow the water away from the bullseye.
"How is this fair?" asked Kurt, defensive.
Blaine smiled. He didn't give up to the challenge. Instead, he realised a common pattern. Left fan Right fan. Right Left Left Repeat. He aimed the water by the left when the left fan turned on, and it hit the bullseye.
The irritated man closed the switch and snarled. He passed Blaine a tie with Red and Blue stripes. Interesting.
"Doesn't this look a little like the Dalton tie?" asked Kurt suspiciously, the two staring at the tie. Blaine turned his head before giving it to Kurt. "Wait, what?"
"I'm giving it to you." said Blaine, grinning.
"But you won it. You worked hard to pass the ridiculous fans." said Kurt, sounding slightly adorable.
"I know. I want you to have it." said Blaine.
And there it sat in the room, the very same. Blaine reached over and picked it up before smiling to himself. He made a quick decision. This was going to be the turning point.
"Blaine?"
"Mhmm?"
"I can't find the car keys."
Blaine laughed tearfully to himself. Oh gosh, somethings just don't change. Kurt keeps losing his car keys. "That's okay. Did you check the car itself?"

Blaine took Kurt out to dinner on Feburary 14, 2020 in a fancy hotel resturant on Valentine's day. Kurt and Blaine both admitted that the food there was the best they've ever tasted, and decided that this was the perfect resturant to come to.
It was when Kurt was eating his main course that he smiled and asked. "How come you never brought me here before?"
"Because I wanted it to be special." said Blaine, smiling. He knew this was the moment. All this sweating and anxiety about tonight was pointless. He knew it was time and he couldn't be more prepared with Kurt's dazzling eyes looking at him under the chandeliar. Like he was the only one for him.
"Oh..." said Kurt like he understood. "Valentine's day, classy."
"Something a little more special." said Blaine.
Kurt's brows furrowed. "Wha-"
Blaine got on his knees and Kurt did a double take before realising what was happening.
"Kurt Elizabeth Hummel. I swear I've never loved anyone the way I loved you. Will you marry me?" asked Blaine, looking at Kurt hopefully.
Kurt gaped at Blaine before smiling, getting down on his knees as well.
"Yes." Replied Kurt, letting Blaine put the ring on his finger before hugging him. Across his shoulder, Kurt said jestingly, "And you better not have loved anyone more than you loved me."
Blaine laughed. "Never."
